“Seth!”
“Fine! It’s Kaden!” I throw my arm out. “Okay? It’s Kaden.”
Her eyes grow huge. “What? But I thought he was straight.”
“Yeah, well, so did I but apparently, it’s not all black and white.”
“So, are you together? Why haven’t you told—”
“We’re not together. Not like that. We’re…” I sigh again, hunching forward on the couch. “We kind of settled on an agreement.”
“An agreement?” She frowns.
“Yeah.”
“What kind of agreement?”
I shrug. “To, like, get off. Together.”
“You mean you’re having sex? You’re hooking up?”
“Basically, yeah.”
“What do you mean basically? It’s a yes or no question?”
“Then fucking yes.”
“But you’re not together?”
“No, Lou,” I state, getting a little annoyed. “We’re not together. We’re just friends helping each other out.”
“But you still like him, right? So, does he know?”
“Of course not!” I snap.
She drops her head in her hand, shaking her head. “Are you out of your fucking mind?” she barks, dragging a hand down her face. “This is the stupidest thing you’ve ever done.”
“I think you’re—”
“Remember Phoenix? This is worse!”
“Are you insane?” I frown at her.
“No, but you clearly are. What’s wrong with you?”
“Well, it’s all your fault!” I snap.
“What?!”
“You told me to get high on some fucking Viagra drug with the guy you know I have a crush on. What the fuck did you think was gonna happen?” I yell.
She gapes at me, eyes bulging out of her head. “This been going on since—”
“No. Yes. Sort of.” I shake my head, dragging a hand down my face.
“I need specifics.”
“Two months, maybe.” And four days and twelve hours.
