“She’s…” Callum starts.

“Our scent match,” Lain finishes the sentence.

All their scents are so thick in the house it’s like the combination of them is choking me in a fun way. I haven’t been around all of them at once since getting my scent back, and it’s almost too much.

“Sweetheart?” Lain says, and I have to shake my head before looking up at his eyes. My vision feels off. I push at my glasses and blink. “Maisie?”

“How long have you known?” Callum asks, though he looks kinda blurry.

“I-I knew we were in O-b-ban,” I say, grabbing on to Lain for support so that I don’t collapse on the floor.

“Something isn’t right,” Greer says as he approaches me and places a hand on my shoulder. The moment he touches me though, I moan, because he smells and feels so fucking good.

He’s my scent match. He’s perfect, they’re all perfect.

“Are you mad at me?” I grate out, directed at Callum.

His brows furrow, so I take that as a yes and I’m about to break down in tears, but he comes to stand next to me and I take a deep breath.

They’re all so close, their scents combined are unreal and I feel…sick? I whimper and someone curses.

“Maisie, look at me, pretty girl,” Greer says, grabbing my face.

I’m looking at him and I love him. Everything about him; his scent, his handsome face, the shade of his hair, how safe and solid he is. My scent match is perfect and I want him so fucking bad.

I tug on his shirt, and he brings his hand to my forehead. Another curse.

“Grab a blanket and pillow from each of our rooms and bring it to the nest. Ask Angus if he can pick up Fergus. Call the restaurant and let them know we won’t be there for the week and to have Ginny and Sorcha take over. Let your brother know what’s going on too so he can tell her sister. Lain, call Rory and give him your tours for the week.” Greer lays it all out for everyone.

I’m just blinking at him because his shirt is still on and I need to be drowned in his Alpha scent.

“Don’t worry, sweet girl, we’ve got you.”

I don’t doubt him for a second, because he’s Greer, he’s my scent match, and he’ll always take care of me.

My hands trembleas I make the call, telling Ginny and Sorcha the plan and that if they need anything to text us and we’ll answer as soon as we can.

Lain and Greer are up in the nest with Maisie. He already called Rory even if he hated every single second of that phone call. I’m waiting on the front porch, waiting for my Grandda to come and collect Fergus. I shoot off a message to Graham letting him know what’s going on and immediately silence my notifications.

“Did you know?” I ask the dog; he nudges his giant head against my side and I take that as a yes.

It all makes so much sense. Why Lain and Greer couldn’t stay away, why, even when I tried my hardest, I was drawn to her. Most of all, the reason for why she kissed me when she did and why I couldn’t pull away.

We couldn’t scent her, but somehow deep in our bones we knew we were scent matches.

I’m still wrapping my mind around it all. I never thought a scent match was in the cards for me. When Fiona left, I thought that I’d probably never have pack life again, I’d be alone. Butnow my scent match is upstairs in heat and I’ve gotta figure out where the fuck I fit in with all of this.

Greer and Lain have had more time with her. She’s more comfortable with them. Yeah, we had a moment. I’ve apologized to her, but the guilt is weighing so fucking heavy on me. How didn’t I see it and how the hell did a prick like me find a scent match in her?

My Grandda pulls up to the drive; Fergus is already bounding toward him, excited to see the old man. It’s mostly because he gets more treats over there, at least that’s what I tell myself.

“My good old boy, come here,” he says, patting his legs as the dog happily trots over to him. It’s only lightly raining right now as I head his way too. “Callum, everything okay, son?” he asks.

I lick my lips. “Maisie, she’s our scent match. She’s uh…in distress,” I say.
