My fingers climb the back of her head and cradle her skull, tangling with her hair as I pull her back. "Slow down," I mumble into her mouth. "Taste me. Like this." I lap at the inside of her cheek, the underside of her upper lip. Small licks to tease and tantalize. "Now you."
At the first tentative movement from her tongue, my eyes roll back in sheer delight. "Yes. Yes... Just like that. Give my bottom lip a little suck."
Quick learner that she is, she gets better with every second, stoking the fire of passion that simmers beneath the surface. It takes everything within me to hold back and not take this further, but I don't want to betray her trust.
When I can no longer control myself, I give a little nibble to her bottom lip and reluctantly break away from her mouth. "Such a good girl," I praise, wrapping my arms around her as she buries her head into my chest to hide from me. "My good girl."
Placing a hand back on her ankle, I caress her bare leg all the way to her knee, stopping there just as I said I would. The road to progress is never smooth, but once the destination is reached, the reward will be sweet.
As if she hears my thoughts, Mercy shivers within the prison of my arms.
So sweet.
Chapter twelve
Mercy
Ihavetobiteback my instinct of offering to wash the dishes when we finish supper. I shouldn't want to help my captor, but it's been ingrained in me since I was a child.Make yourself useful so people will want to keep you around. That's what all the social workers told me before I went to live with a new set of parents.
SoI did. I was the most helpful little girl any parent could ever want. It didn't work, though. Nobody wanted me.
Until now.
Until Amos. He made me kiss him. Kiss him or let him run his hands all over me. I chose the slightly lesser of two evils, but it doesn't seem like it with my lips still swollen from his attentions.
"Let's go to the reading room. I forgot to ask you today what your favorite book was. Or books."
I can't tell him that! If he knew the dirty books I gravitate to, he'd probably want to role play some of the scenes.
Grabbing my hand, he pulls me behind him as he leads us to a shelf filled with books. He does that a lot, the constant touching. It's both comforting and unnerving.
"So, I have non-fiction, mystery, romance, the classics...just about everything you could want. What's your poison?"
Steering far away from that potential bomb, I tell him my other favorites because...oversharing. "I like poetry and the classics. Sometimes I'll dip into a mystery."
"What a coincidence." He aims a crooked smile my way while picking his way through the titles. "I like the classics, too. How aboutFrankenstein? I've been reading this one lately."
Frankenstein. A scientist who uses unorthodox scientific experiments to create a creature who can reason, to a degree. I'll take that over him offering me a romance book any day. "Sure. I'm good with that."
Book in hand, he collapses onto the oversized couch. All the furniture in this house is sized just for him, I suppose. I don't have to wonder for long where I'm going to sit because he gently yanks me down on top of him.
"Oof!" My head connects with his chin.
"Sorry, baby." A kiss drops on the tender spot. "I didn't mean to pull so hard."
I rub the soreness out. "It's okay."
"Here—turn this way."
Amos puts me right where he wants me, which apparently is in between his legs. "Grab my glasses, would you? They're in the drawer closest to you."
I do as he asks, pulling out a pair of thick, black-rimmed glasses from the coffee table.
"Thanks, babe. Do you want to start from the beginning or pick up where I left off?"
I can't look at him. I can't. Glasses on men his age are my weakness, and I can't afford any more chinks in my armor. "Where you left off is fine."
Dragging my stiff frame back against him, his arms rest underneath my breasts as he holds the book steady and begins to read in a soothing and melodic voice. If he weren't my captor, I'd totally listen to him on audiobooks.
