“Yes. I did eight years. Who the fuck are you, and why do you care?”

Logan’s voice comes from the speaker, and holy shit, he actually has done time.

“Well, we kind of need your help.” Noah hesitates for a moment. “Do you by any chance know how to hide a body?” Sure Noah, just tell him what I did right away. It’s not like this guy could turn me in or anything.

“Man, I know you don’t like me, but if you know how to hide a dead fucking body, I will owe you my life.” I spit out in frantic and Noah turns to me with a ‘what the hell’ look on his face. I don’t do subtle either, it seems.

“A dread body.” Logan repeats. “You need help with a dead body.”

“At least we know he can hear.” Noah jokes.

“Send me the address I will be there in ten. Do not move the body.” Logan ends the call before we can tell him that we did indeed move the damn body already.

“Now what?” I ask Noah who’s turning Alex into a human burrito with the throw blanket Rachel has left on the couch. She won’t get this back, that’s for sure.

I watch him frozen in place, because this man totally doesn’t know how to follow directions. “What part of don’t move the body wasn’t clear Noah?” I shout.

“We already moved him anyway this will make it easier to move him again.” I don’t want to argue. He has a point. Maybe. I don’t fucking know anymore.

“I am going to clean the driveway then.” I announce and head to the kitchen where he said the cleaning supplies are, knowing the location of the room from the camera feed I had watched for far too long before Rachel took them down.I need a moment for myself.

Noah

Nothing says ‘good date’ like hiding a dead body.

“I thought Logan said not to move the damn body.” Leo yells as I try to drag Alex from the living room to the garage.

“I am not moving him. I’m simply relocating him to a less visible place. Do you even know this guy?” For fuck’s sake, why is he so heavy? Leo is standing there, looking at me while I drag the cocoon of death across the living room.

“How is moving him to the garage helpful right now?” He finally decides to help, lifting the leg portion of the dead body.

“I don’t know if it will help avoid having to explain why Alex is dead in Rachel’s living room if anyone but Logan decides to come by.” I shout as I try to open the front door with my elbow. Damn it. I drop my side of the body onto the floor to open the door, and Leo eyes me as if I just killed someone.

“How about we tone down the judgment, buddy, and help more?” He laughs as if that’s so funny. It’s not. It’s very much not funny, and I am annoyed as hell to be in this situation. Especially when I was supposed to have a hot man cook for me.

“I am helping, but this is a stupid plan.” He argues.

“Really? Says the fucking murderer.” I shout back.

“I am not denying that I am one, but this specific murder was an accident.” He admits.

I am about to respond when a voice comes from the driveway. “What the hell happened to don’t move the fucking body?” A man who I assume is Logan shouts a little too loudly, and both Leo and I turn to him in unison.

“Say it a little louder, why don’t you?”

“Oh, fuck. You are right.” Logan places his hand over his mouth, realizing the mistake he just did.

I turn to Leo with a raised eyebrow. “I thought you said this guy was a pro.”

“I said I heard rumors he did prison time.” Leo shrugs. “Maybe they were wrong.”

“They weren’t, but I didn’t kill anyone.” Logan pushes me aside and lifts my side of the body. “Let’s put him in my trunk.” Sure, let’s listen to the stranger with the prison record. That’s going to go well.

“Are we really going to trust this dude?” Leo stays silent, and I turn to Logan. “Who the hell are you?”

“Someone who is willing to help you hide a body. Do you really need more information than that?” He kind of has a point but it’s a shady one at best. Yes, he is helping us hide Alex’s corpse, but is he really helping? How do we know he won’t report us to the cops the moment he leaves the house?
