I’m woken out of my sleep by someone shaking me. My eyes open slowly, and I do my best to focus them. When they do, I see Nala standing beside me, fully clothed. I yawn as I push up to a sitting position. I take my time admiring how good she looks in the sundress she’s wearing. She smelled wonderful, and it took everything in me not to pull her back on top of me.

She must have noticed the look in my eyes, because she chuckled before shaking her head. “No ma’am,” she says. “Get up and go get dressed. We have dinner reservations in an hour.”

I was about to say something filthy, but my stomach growled, stopping me in my tracks. She giggles, pulling me up from the bed. It was only then that I noticed the room had been scrubbed clean of any trace of our earlier activities. If not for the sticky feeling between my legs, I would’ve believed that I’d imagined the whole thing.

She leads me out of the room and back to the one we’d been staying in for the past week. She ushers me into the bathroom, and once I’m in the shower, she slips out. I’m in the middle of washing myself when she enters again and places a stack of clothes on the counter. From what I could see, it was another outfit that matched hers. She loved a good matching outfit.

30 minutes later, I was out of the bathroom, dressed, smelling good, and feeling refreshed. As I slipped on my shoes, Nala stood before me, a small box in her hands. I smile up at her as I take it, pulling her down to sit on my lap as I open it.

“Whoa,” I say as my fingers graze the silver chain.

It had a small pendant shaped like a paper airplane. She took it from me and helped me put it on. My heart swelled as the pendant grazed my exposed skin, thanks to the few buttons I’d left undone on my dress shirt. Her fingers graze the pendant before caressing my cheek.

“This little airplane represents all of the adventures that we’ve had and all of the ones that we will have in the future,” she informs me. I smile up at her lovingly. “It’s a promise that we’ll continue to experience new things together forever.”

“It’s you and me to the end, pretty girl,” I say before kissing her. “I love it, by the way. It’s gorgeous.”

“There’s one more thing,” she says.

I furrow my eyebrows before looking back down at the small box. After pulling back more of the paper, a small, folded paper falls out. I pick it up and smile when I see the message etched across it:

Let's make this our next new NEW experience together. What do you say?

“You’re so damn cute,” I laugh, shaking my head. I unfold the paper, and my words catch in my throat. “No fucking way…”

Staring back at me were the confirmation codes for a flight that was booked to New Zealand. It was somewhere I’d always wanted to visit, and I’d mentioned it to her before. I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. I could feel a few tearstrying to make their way to the surface, but I blinked them away before looking at her.

“Baby…”

“Happy birthday, my love,” she says, cupping my cheeks in her hands. She kisses me softly, then pulls back to smile at me. “After the wedding, we’ll be flying out to spend two weeks there for our honeymoon. That’s why I had to keep the destination a secret. I didn’t want you to figure out the surprise.”

“God, I love you so damn much, Nala,” I say as I set the items on the bed beside me. I help her straddle me, and she wraps her arms around my neck. “I can’t wait to marry you next week.”

“Same here, baby,” she smiles as my hands travel to her ass. She sighs, shaking her head as a laugh escapes. “Simone, we’re never gonna get out of this room. Our families are waiting for us.”

“Let them wait,” I say, gripping her tighter as I stand up. She wraps her legs around me, and I turn around, placing her in the center of the bed on her back. I hover over her, admiring her beauty. “I need to hear you whimper my name one more time before we head out. Can you do that for me, Peach?”

“Anything for you, gorgeous,” she answers, pulling me down to kiss her.

We may or may not have spent another two hours in that room, but frankly, I didn’t give a fuck.

We were the ones getting married, and every time I thought about how she’d soon be Mrs. Teagues, I craved her more and more.

She was in for the time of her life once we were officially on our honeymoon.
