Harley

Okay, I’m on my way

Yeah, don’t tempt me like that. I know your ass is still at practice

I wait for a minute, and when she doesn’t text back, I sigh, stuffing the phone in my pocket. I was crushed because now she had me all worked up, and she wasn’t around to remedy that. It’s been about two weeks since we’ve done anything because she had been busy helping with a local youth basketball camp, and every time she’d come home, she’d be tired as hell. It only made things worse that I was currently ovulating. I wanted her more than ever, and my irritation was at an all-time high because of it.

Yesterday, she promised that this weekend would be dedicated to her taking one last break before she had to get back to the grind. So, she decided that we should fly to California for a bit. Earlier, before she left, she told me to pick something for us to do when we got there, and I jokingly suggested swimming with sharks. Hell, I don’t even know if it was even an option, but I liked being a menace sometimes, especially because I knew that she was terrified of so many things.

In my opinion, Harley was the cutest person on the planet. Just looking at her, you’d assume that she was this muscular, protective, provider type of person, and don’t get me wrong—she is! However, what I loved the most was her softer side. The one that only I got to see. I loved how comfortable she was around me, even admitting that stuff like heights, sharks, lizards, and bugs frightened her. I wasn’t afraid of any of that, and I loved that I could be her protector just like she was mine.

“What do you think?” Nala asks, pulling me out of my thoughts. She twirls in the dress she’d picked out, and I nod enthusiastically. She looked gorgeous! “It’s a little shorter than what I’d usually wear, but I like it.”

“Girl, you look good! Yesss!” I exclaim as my jaw drops. “Simone is gonna be all over you once she sees you!”

“Thank you! And that’s the plan,” she winks. “I still can’t believe she’s been my wife for almost 3 weeks now! It feels so surreal.”

“Ugh, I can’t wait to join you in the married lane,” I chuckle. “Harley has been so busy these last couple of months that we haven’t even decided on a date yet. But honestly, I don’t even care about all of that. An officiant could pop up right now and marry us for all I care. I’m just ready to be her wife.”

“Now imagine if Harley really popped up with rings and an officiant,” Nala laughed as she headed back to the dressing room. “You know she has a habit of materializing whenever you talk her up.”

“She does not-” I pause mid-sentence as my phone buzzes in my hand. My heart almost jumps out of my chest when I see that it’s a text from Harley. “Her ass is gonna live a long time.”

I open the message, and my eyebrows furrow.

Harley

Come outside.

???

When the next message came through, I lost all ability to speak. I’d really talked her up.
