But now she was asking. Now she was reaching for me, pulling me closer, making soft sounds against my mouth that drove me absolutely insane.

I broke the kiss, breathing hard, searching her eyes for any sign of doubt or hesitation.

"Are you sure? We should check with doctor—"

"Stop talking," she whispered. "Just love me. Please, I already checked with doctor."

So I did.

I loved her slowly and carefully, mindful of her pregnant body, making sure she was comfortable, that nothing hurt, that every touch brought her pleasure. I kissed every inch of skin I could reach. Worshipped her with my hands and mouth until she was trembling beneath me.

When we finally came together, it felt like coming home. Like something that had been broken was finally being made whole again.

After, we lay tangled together, her head on my chest, my hand drawing lazy circles on her back. Her breathing had slowed, and I thought she might have fallen asleep.

"I love you," I whispered into her hair. "More than you will ever know."

She did not respond, but her hand tightened on my chest, just over my heart.

The next morning, I woke before Viya and went downstairs to make her breakfast. When I returned with a tray of fresh fruit, toast, and the ginger tea that helped with her nausea, she was just waking up.

She sat up carefully, accepting the tea with a grateful smile.

"Thank you."

I waited until she had eaten a few bites, then retrieved the file from where I had left it on the dresser the previous day.

"I have something for you."

She looked at the file curiously as I handed it to her.

"What is this?"

"Open it."

She set down her toast and opened the file. I watched her expression as she scanned the first page. Confusion, then shock, then something close to anger.

"Armaan, what is this?"

"Transfer deeds. For everything I own. The company shares, this house, all the properties, the investments, the cars. Everything. It is all in your name now."

She stared at me like I had lost my mind.

"Why would you do this?"

"To prove that I am not with you for convenience or obligation or anything other than love. If you decide to leave me, if you decide you cannot forgive me, you will leave with everything. I will have nothing. Because none of it matters without you."

"Armaan, I do not want your money or your property. That is not why I—"

"I know," I interrupted softly. "That is exactly why I’m giving it to you. Because you never cared about the status or the wealth; you loved me for who I am, not what I owned. I want you to have everything, Viya. Even if you decide you can't be with me, I need to know you are safe. I need to know you will live a life of comfort, even if it’s a life without me."

She was looking at the papers with tears in her eyes, her hands shaking slightly.

"I cannot accept this."

"You already have. The transfers are legal and binding. Everything is yours now."
