I nodded and he smiled, his eyes lighting up. He waved Brayden out, and wolf whistles broke out over the crowd’s cheers. I flushed, my cheeks heating, but I didn’t falter. I wanted it to be the three of us. This is what that looked like. Spencer slipped his electric guitar over his shoulder, and Brayden wrapped me in his arms. The band start playing his breakout hit, “Midnight Hour.”
Billy said you’d cry ‘more’
Are you with him?
While we’re aching for you
In the darkness
In the shadows
Waiting
We’re alone, missing you
Yearning for you
In the midnight hour
We feel the touch of your skin
Your taste is on our tongues
Your love in our hearts
He’d changed the words—“I” to “we.” He’d made it my song. My tears flowed, and I clutched Brayden, holding myself back from reaching for Spencer.
He stepped closer, his words never faltering. The theatre around us disappeared. The crowd faded away, leaving the three of us in a bubble.
With the last haunting note, he leaned in and kissed me. I tangled my fingers in his messy, sweat soaked hair and tugged him closer, my tongue tangling with his until Brayden leaned in and cleared his throat. We broke apart, and I brushed a piece of Spencer’s hair from his forehead.
“I love you,” I whispered. “I love both of you.”
Spencer froze and his eyes widened. A slow grin lit up his face. “I love you, too, Keels.”
Bray spun me around, wrapped his arms around me, and lifted me off the stage like I weighed nothing. I cupped his face and laughed, my heart flip-flopping and joy lighting me up inside. I leaned down and kissed him, softly pressing our still-smiling lips together.
“Y’all’d better believe I love you, too, darlin’, and that little girl of yours. She’s our heart too.”
Tears sprang to my eyes. They’d made every one of my dreams come true tonight.Theywere my dream come true.

The afterparty was quickly over and done with after the concert. At least it was for the three of us. As soon as Spencer got in that room where he was the center of attention, he clammed up and started scowling again. Then he looked at me, and he struggled to stop his grin breaking free. People took it as an invitation to talk to him—not what he wanted.
Brayden managed to take a bit of the heat off, subtly reminding people to ask about why he was wearing headphones and sunglasses. But no matter who any one of us were with, conversation quickly turned to what was said up on that stage, away from the microphone.
Cara, Carina, Kamirah, and Cleo covered for us while we made our exit through the kitchen. The car service dropped us at the staff entry for the hotel, and we ducked inside, heading straight into the elevator. We tumbled out when it hit the top level, and Spencer and I raced down the corridor ahead of Brayden, our footfalls sounding like a herd of elephants as we laughed and bumped into the walls, trying to get to the room first. Spencer was tipsy—he’d needed some liquid courage to get him through the afterparty—but I had no excuse. I was just riding the high I’d been on all night.
“Y’all look damn good running away from me, but you’ll look better comin’ on me,” Brayden teased.
“You’ll look better on your knees for me,” Spencer quipped back.
“Maybe I’ll only get on my knees for Keeley.” He wiggled his brows and dropped the swipe card.
I grinned and gripped his shoulder, playfully pushing him down to his knees. “Oh yeah? For me?” I asked.
Brayden smirked, then wrapped his arms around my legs and stood in one smooth move. I was over his shoulder in a fireman’s hold in a split second.
