The light of the bonds merge into one. Still themselves, still distinct, but also a greater whole. My pack. My mates.

Mine.

My mate draws me close, soothing my bondmark with his tongue as I nurse his. He pulls me into his purr, into our nest, onto his chest, into the sleep of the safe and satisfied.

Chapter 36

Mine

They're mine. I'm theirs.

I'm content.

My omega is content.

I don't want to move.

The lavender scent is trying to pull me back into sleep. But something is pulling me out of the soothing fog.

My groan seems to echo around the room.

The pillow I'm lying on is surprisingly comfortable. Warm, but not hot. Firm, but yielding. And… purring?

I open my eyes. I'm lying on a chest, surrounded by blankets and pillows. In a surprisingly unsticky nest. Actually, everything is confusingly clean—including me. True, my mouth feels like something crawled into it and died, but everything else is fresh. Even the oversized t-shirt I'm wearing.

My hair is damp.

I blink, waiting for my brain to reboot. My heart is fluttering. Something's different. I stare at the chest as it gently rises and falls.

The chest with a… bite mark?

Oh God. Oh no. Did I… did they want to? What have I done? Oh crap, did I—

The chest stirs. The head turns towards me. The eyes are closed, the face content.

I know the face.

Zeke.

Something cool and calm and content floods through me.

"None of that, darling. You only gave us what we asked for." His voice is thick with sleep, his eyes not even cracking open.

Oh.

Oh!

I run my hands around my throat and tug at the collar of my shirt, looking down at my chest. It's a stretch, but I can just see a hint of a scabbed over bite mark on my own shoulder.

… mine.

…yours.

I remember… wanting.

And it's surprising howrighteverything feels. I know I should be absolutely panicking right now. I know Ishouldfeel like I've done somethingmonumentallyimpulsive and stupid. But in my chest, in my heart, all I can feel is satisfied and safe and content.

The heels of my hands rub into my eye sockets as I try to remember.
