"Do you know how to babysit us?" Riley asked, looking up at her very seriously.
"I'm not sure," she said.
"We'll teach you," Riley assured her and took her hand and led her to the couch. "You sit there."
DJ then gave her the remote. "Do you have a phone?" he asked.
"Sure. Of course I do," she said. After Riley and DJ stared at her expectantly, she picked up her phone from the coffee table and held it up for them to see.
They nodded with approval. "That's good. OK. You sit there, you watch TV, and you play with your phone," DJ told her.
"That's how you babysit?" Raquel asked and looked from the boys to Wyatt.
The boys both nodded and Wyatt confirmed it. "You heard it from the experts."
He then went to find Sam putting away the last of the leftovers. "I just roped Raquel into babysitting. Let's run off somewhere together."
"What? What kind of host are you?" Sam told him as he stuck some containers in the fridge.
"Bad. Very bad," Wyatt said and kissed Sam's neck while he closed the fridge.
"You're abandoning your guest?"
"The boys are keeping her company. Not to mention the dogs. We won't be long. We'll be back before their bedtime." Wyatt took his hand and they went out into the cool, night air.
Chapter 29
For a while they walked in silence over a nearby field. Orange flowers poked out of some bushes like flames in the night. Holding hands, Wyatt and Sam strolled over the moonlit grass.
When they found themselves near some small trees, they stopped and Wyatt spun Sam around to face him. He kissed him then he pulled back to admire the way the silver of the moonlight's glow was reflected in his eyes.
"Is this because you wanted to talk?" Sam asked him.
"No. It's because I wanted to kiss you," Wyatt told him and gave him a longer, deeper kiss to show him just how much.
"I just don't want you to worry about me," Sam said while Wyatt held him loosely and ran his hands up and down his sides.
"You can't ask me not to worry about you, but this is purely selfish on my part. I know we'll have time later, but I couldn't wait. When we were sitting on the back porch and it started to get dark, I kept thinking how much I wanted to be out here with you, just the two of us under the stars," Wyatt said and watched Sam's gorgeous eyes turn up to take in the dark sky above them.
"You're begging me to take you camping," he warned him.
"I'm up for anything if it's with you. You make my whole life amazing," Wyatt said. He really wanted him to know how much he meant to him.
"You don't make any sense," Sam told him but he also smiled.
He was incredible and Wyatt was dying to have him right now. "I can't wait to have you in my bed."
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Sam asked.
"Yes. I'm not letting you go off by yourself. In my bed, you'll be safe and satisfied. I promise. Isn't that a good deal?" Wyatt asked giving him a wicked grin while pulling him closer by his belt loops.
"Yes," Sam admitted. "But I would be OK by myself. I don't want you to think of me as fragile or something."
"I don't. I think of you as beautiful and irresistible. And if we stay out here much longer, I'll be doing what Raquel suspected I had in mind and dragging you off into the bushes like some wild, insatiable beast," Wyatt threatened.
"She said that?" Sam asked a little alarmed. He was probably wondering what Wyatt had been telling her.
"Of course she did, more or less. She has eyes. You're too tempting for me to be left alone with you. Who knows what I might get up to," Wyatt said and he grabbed Sam and buried his face in the crook of his neck to lick and nibble on him. "I've been accused of being a cannibal, just so you know. But you're the only man I'm hungry for."
