The gate slowly opened at Doc’s command. Doc grabbed my bike, and walked it down the long road toward a house, as if it didn’t weigh a shit ton.
“I’m glad you came back. I was afraid we were going to have to hog tie him so he didn’t come after you.”
“I’m afraid I made a mistake. I’ve never done anything like this before.”
“It’s not a mistake. I’m not sure what, or how it happens, but when Zeus and Marshal found their women they were exactly like this. He’s yours, and he’ll never do anything to hurt you.”
“So he’s perfect?” I shrugged hating how much this was affecting me.
“Oh no, he’ll piss you off. He’s never going to stop being a biker, and he’s going to be protective as hell over you. But he’ll be loyal, and he’ll love you like nobody ever could.”
My muscles got all melty, and I wanted to urge him to push my bike faster so I could get to Banshee quicker.
“You haven’t found your one yet?”
Doc gave me a sexy smile. “Nope, not for me. The one that’s the one, can never be.”
He sounded so sad I wanted to ask him more, but he was now pushing my bike into the driveway of a two story house. I couldn’t see the compound since it was night, but I could tell it was well maintained. I was curious to see the compound in the light.
Doc led me to the door and knocked.
Banshee yanked the door open with a snarl. “I’m still here like I promised, but I’m telling you Doc, if you try to stop me from getting her tomorrow I’ll beat your ass.”
I came out from behind Doc, and Banshee’s body jerked as if he’d been shot at point blank. “Hey, Hulk,” I said, waiving my fingers at him.
“Well, I’ll just let you two talk. Good night. I’m going to bed since I’m off guard duty now that I know you’re not going anywhere.”
Doc inclined his head, and then he was gone, leaving me and my hulk alone.
