“Nice.”

Kaiden tugged on his loose-fitting shirt. “Unfortunately, they have zero style.”

Without his corset vests, Rus figured the compression tank offered Kaiden a little comfort. He wanted to comment on how Kaiden didn’t need them, didn’t need to hide and change in the bathroom of his own home, but he understood that Kaiden still struggled with his body image. Yes, he’d grown to accept himself, but Rus worried Kaiden would always believe others wouldn’t accept him. Rus wanted to find a way to convince Kaiden he was comfortable with his appearance in the fullest sense.

Kaiden kept the double doors to the master bedroom wide open as he strutted into the neighboring kitchen and started cooking. There was a pep in Kaiden’s step as he tossed flour into a mixing bowl. The sizzle of the pancakes carried a fruity, sweet aroma that roused Rus out of bed. Kaiden shimmied with a bit of swagger as he grabbed plates.

“Well, isn’t this a treat?” Rus said, staring at Kaiden’s ass.

“They’re protein pancakes, so they’re good for you, too,” Kaiden replied, completely oblivious to Rus’ wandering eye.

“Hey, if you need some extra protein, I’ve got you covered.”

Kaiden made a face, clearly not amused. Then he pointed the spatula at Rus. “Maybe for lunch if you’re lucky.”

“Ooooh.”

“Depends how I feel after retail hell.” Kaiden stacked pancakes onto plates and carried them into the bedroom. “But y’all are welcome to chill here. Internet is up. Wi-Fi password is on the box. Fridge is stocked. I’ll be back around two.”

“Cool.”

“Normally, eating in bed is not allowed.”

“Even ass?” Rus playfully retorted.

Kaiden made a face, trying his hardest not to laugh. “Anyway, feel free to eat in bed since I’m seriously lacking furniture, but please don’t spill crumbs.”

“No worries.” Rus took his plate.

Kaiden stared at the sleeping Dylan and then looked to Rus. Since Kaiden held two plates, Rus shook Dylan.

Dylan woke up but remained groggy the entire time he ate breakfast. He managed one coherent sentence, and that came with a mouthful of pancakes.

“Thank you,” Dylan said as he took a big bite.

Kaiden grabbed everyone’s plates and tossed them in the sink. He quickly walked back into the bedroom and gave Rus a kiss, then followed up by giving the very sleepy Dylan a peck goodbye.

“You two try to have some fun while I’m gone.”

“Not too much fun,” Dylan groaned, still waking up.

“I don’t know, maybe a little too much fun will wake you up.”

Rus snickered and waved goodbye. He sat on top of the covers for a few minutes, scrolling through his phone while Dylan snoozed beside him.

Eventually, Dylan yawned and stretched wide to wake up his sleepy body. “Plans?”

“I’m probably going to shower.”

“Oh, now that’s a fun plan.” Dylan grinned. “We can get dirty and squeaky clean all at the same time.”

“We?”

“Well, yeah. Wouldn’t want to run up Kaiden’s water bill his first day,” Dylan insisted. “It’s conservation.”

“Uh huh.” Rus rolled his eyes and hopped out of bed, swaggering as he made his way across the bedroom.

Dylan rolled out of bed, intentionally letting his large plaid boxers hang low, exposing the deep cut line of his hip.
