“Mothafucka, I will air this bitch out and tell everyone you sleep with men,” the man threatened in a low voice through his teeth. “Do not play with me because you sitting next to this saddity bitch–––”

“Well,” Souxie let out as she tucked her hair behind her ear, “I do try.”

“Baby, this is a gay man,” he let out before suddenly letting it be known out loud. “This man right here is a liar! He’s aliiiiiyerrrr!Harvey got these girls thinking he likes women but he in fact, sleeps with men! I was just with him the other night, kissing fucking and sucking and he acts like he can’t message me back! No phone call! No note! Nothing!”

Asha’s mouth dropped while I clasped my mouth in complete shock. I could see people looking around as Harvey turned to focus back on his food. He was irritated but I bet it had more to do with the fact that Souxie was smirking in his face than the man outing him.

“While you’re running around pretending to be straight. Don’t play with me. I don’t play those types of games. We could have had a good time but you–––You got the right one,” the man said. I could see the manic and almost obsessive black haze in his eyes. He was obsessed after one night, but this is why I always say, werewolves and incubus, are a no for me. Entirely too much energy spent on a man and his sex. I could never.

“I never called or text you back because the sex was trash,” Harvey said as he leaned back in the chair to look at the man. “I’m not pretending to be anything. Straight, bisexual, I don’t play into those pointless titles,” he said with a dismissive tone. “Gives people like you a reason to use it against me, or whatever the fuck this is you’re doing now. I fuck what I like and like what I fuck. Your sex was trash. That’s why I didn’t respond to your calls. I’m no longer interested.”

The man’s face fell flat as the embarrassment began to spread. He suddenly turned and walked off as if he never walked towards our table. “Oh?!” Harvey shouted. “You’re leaving now! Your head was trash! That’s why I never hit you back!”

“Harvey, enough,” Souxie said as she gripped his knee.

“What purpose do you have coming here to threaten me with a sexuality preference? I’m a grown ass man. I’m very well aware of what I like, and with who. Why would I hide that? Not one of these little pussy ass boys sitting around me,” he suddenly snapped. The snickering jokes and whispers around us about his preference came to a halt. “I’m not one of them; I will beat the fuck out of you.”

Whatever chatter or noise was suddenly changed like a channel on a TV. The men who were heard making jokes suddenly spoke about sports while others turned away. Even Asha was about to say something before deciding against it. Harvey pulled his chair back to the table and began eating again as he smiled and winked at Souxie.

“Hi beautiful,” he greeted gently. “You like that ignorant shit, don’t you?” She rolled her eyes before turning red as she looked away. “Yeah you do…”

The sound of a soft click suddenly whistled and filtered the air as I looked around. Solomon was standing in the center of the dining hall giving out the signal through his teeth. Noticeable to the trained ear, you could see several students suddenly get up as more followed. Just about every siren quickly gathered their things as the officers eyed him. Solomon stared back as he motioned for the sirens to leave out the front door. Asha nervously looked at Souxie who nodded. I could see other sirens looking to her for confirmation on whether she was leaving with them or not.

“Shit…man,” she muttered, balling up her sandwich wrapper. “Y'all keep me in the damn loop, please. If y'all hear from Maggie, let me know.”

“Will do,” Souxie and I said as we watched her walk out prompting several others to get up and follow. It was a bold stance against the police and Solomon didn’t dare to back down. He kept his eyes on the uniformed men until everyone of his people were out before he walked out of the dining hall with the doors closing behind him.

“The inability to think for yourself is something I hope to never experience,” Harvey said with a posh yet masculine tone. Souxie rolled her eyes while I smiled. He was absolutely perfect for her whether she knew it or not. He bit down on his fry before looking at Souxie.

“Don’t you agree?”

“Not at all…I think group think can be a form of protection and security.”

“You can protect and secure yourself,” he snorted.

“Yes, but to be surrounded by those who truly mean you no harm and want nothing but the best and will make sure you have the very best…. There is something to be said about a man that can manage an entire multi tribe of mythics…It’s…sexy, right Isis?”

I almost choked on my drink as I began coughing and hitting my chest.

“What?” I coughed.

“Isn’t there something sexy about Solomon?” She asked with a teasing tone.

“He’s not your type,” Harvey cut in. Souxie’s smile faded as she stared at him with annoyance.

“Tell me, why are you sitting by me again, Harvey?” She asked. “After a man just walked over here and basically made me look like a fool?”

“Does that make you upset? I’ve told you, whenever you’re ready to be in a relationship with me, just say it. If not, I am free to have sex with who I want, same as you.”

He stared at her in mid chew, waiting for her response but she simply turned her head with nothing else to say. He seemed to have cracked the code.

“Besides,” he added. “Whatever this is, I want in.”

Souxie whipped her head to look back at him as I sat up, curious myself.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“The stupid cops searched me and my brother’s place when we weren’t there. The dean seems to think we pose a threat, my brother and I have already been given a warning.”
