When I see it’s at more than two million views and hundreds of thousands of likes and shares, my eyes go wide. I rein in my expression immediately and try not to look so stunned. No one else knows about Blake’s secret sexy account, and I don’t want them asking what I’m looking at.
While everyone is talking to each other and distracted, I tap Blake by the arm and quietly show him my phone.
“Did you see this?” I say quietly.
When he sees the views and shares, his eyes bulge. “Oh, damn.”
He clears his throat and schools his expression, then pulls out his phone. After a second, he smiles at his screen, then shows it to me.
It’s a DM from a high-end boxer brief company offering him twelve thousand dollars to wear one of their new designs in a video.
I purse my lips to keep from gasping, but I aim my wide-eyed stare at Blake.
“That’s so much money,” I say quietly.
“I think we should do it,” he says.
I bite back a grin. “I have an idea of a fun scene we could film with you wearing those boxer briefs.”
The corner of his mouth hooks up in a devilish smile. “You’re so good at this, naughty girl.”
Another cheek-aching smile pulls at my lips. I can’t believe Blake and I are doing this. I can’t believe we’re filming fun, sexy videos together on social media and making money from it.
He types out a reply on his phone, then slides it back in his pocket.
“Once they send me the money, I’ll send you your half,” he says.
I soften at how giving and generous he is. It’s tons of fun having this sexy secret that I share only with him. Even if we made no money, I’d still do it. I’d take any chance to spend more time with him.
Nick asks Blake something about their next practice. They’re in the middle of talking when my phone buzzes. I see it’s an alert from Instagram. It’s a new DM.
When I check it, my stomach falls to my feet.
It’s from Logan.
For a while, I stare at my phone, feeling numb and frozen.
He hasn’t tried to reach me in months—not since I transferred to Hollis. After all those awful texts he sent me when we broke up, I blocked his number.
My hand starts to shake as I tap on his message.
Guess who’s coming to your new school next week to play against the men’s hockey team? You thought you could get away from me? You’re such a stupid bitch. You’d better watch out.
It’s not till my chest starts to ache that I realize how hard I’m breathing. A cold sweat breaks out on the back of my neck.
“Briar, are you okay?” Anna asks.
I open my mouth to speak, but I can’t. I’m too freaked to say a word.
“Hey. What’s wrong?” Blake asks in a gentle voice.
“Um, I…” I stop when I realize just how much my voice is shaking.
“What’s going on?” he asks.
I try to steady my breathing, but I can’t. It feels like my lungs are folding, and my chest is too tight…
Blake’s worried gaze drifts to my phone screen. He stares for a long moment. And then, his expression changes. Anger flashes in his eyes. His jaw bulges as he bites down. He balls his hands into fists at his side.
