Another quiver and she swallowed, hard, as if she’d held something back. Something dangerously telling.

He sighed. “I’m barely holding on, too — in case you were wondering.”

Tears pooled in her eyes, but she blinked them away. “I knew you were trouble when I saw you on that feed.”

“Somehow, I don’t think you’d want it any other way.” He kissed her nose. “You up for a shower? Or do we just say fuck it.”

She laughed, the lilting sound like music. “I believe you made me a promise.”

“I said if you were still motivated.” He grinned. “You look as if you can barely keep your eyes open.”

“Glad you’re not smug about it.” She lifted her head, nipped at his lip. “I bet the second that water hits me, I’ll find my motivation.”

“Deal.”

He eased off her, still wanting to lick every inch of her skin, before disposing of the condom and gathering her in his arms — carrying her out the door and into the bathroom. She stumbled a bit once he’d placed her on her feet, as if her legs weren’t quite strong enough, before leaning against the cracked counter, watching him as he grabbed some towels, turned on the taps.

The cool water soothed the fire still raging beneath his skin as he stepped beneath the spray, wrapped her in his arms. Her head rested on his chest, each tiny finger like a brand against his skin.

McGuire closed his eyes, savored the flutter of her heart against his, how each breath feathered over his shoulder. She hummed, and his heart kicked over. Slotted into place. He didn’t move, barely breathed until she kissed his chest, eased back.

A wicked smile lifted her lips as she grabbed the soap, lathered it across his body. “Do you wrestle alligators on the side because, damn…”

He chuckled. “That’s more Patch’s forte.”

“Seriously?”

“It’s a thing. I prefer the old-fashioned way of just moving a lot of heavy shit.”

“It shows.” She cleaned the rest of him, allowed the water to rinse away the bubbles. “When this whole mess is over, I’m gonna need a full day to trace every inch of you. But for now, several of them should do.”

Riven palmed his ribs, smoothed her hands down his body as she slowly went to her knees. He shifted a bit, blocked the worst of the spray from hitting her face as she drew lazy patterns along his skin before trailing a single finger the length of him.

He clenched his stomach, took the opportunity to gather her hair in one hand as the other brushed across her lips. She caught the tip of one finger in her mouth, sucked it partway inside before drawing back, arching her brow.

He swallowed, coughed as he nodded, his head falling back on a hushed curse when she wrapped her hand around him, took him all the way to the back of her mouth.

Her name clawed free, the rough sound of it a measure of how far gone he was. How she’d pushed him to the edge in record time. She took the guttural moan as her sign to startmoving, slowly forward, then even slower back. Dragging it out until he thought his heart would explode.

“Riven…”

She paused, glanced up at him, then picked up her pace, long, steady passes that had that fire raging beneath his skin, again. All the heat he thought had died burning back to life. Threatening to take him under. She seemed oblivious to how wrecked he was until he tugged on her hair, held her still.

An arch of her brow, then she eased him free. “Problem?”

He grunted, every muscle strung tight as he fought not to simply flip her over, take her on all fours on the shower floor. “If you really want to finish me that way, hell, I won’t say no, but…”

He swallowed around the lump in his throat. The one that wanted to feel her surround him, again. See her surrender one more time.

He cupped her jaw. “I need you.”

She stilled, mouth slightly open, eyes wide, looking at him as if he was the answer to every question she had before slowly gaining her feet, moving into his arms. “Good answer.”

He kissed her, long, hard, all that pent up energy still straining his muscles. He managed to ease her against the wall, spin her. A low moan echoed in the warm air, the simple approval spurring him on. He moved in close, wrapped one of her legs around his thigh, then slammed home.

No slow seduction, just primal need breaking the last of his control.

Riven cried out his name, pressing into every thrust, begging him for more. He slid one hand up her chest, anchored her against him, then really let loose.
