Noah: I’ll stop by the candy aisle. Meet me at our tree?
Emma: I’ll be the one lying next to it in a sugar coma if Teresa can stop laughing long enough to help roll me to the quad.
Noah: Tell her I’ll bring her a pint of Rocky Road as motivation.
Emma: Careful, Noah. A girl might think you’re excited to see her.
Noah: A girl might be right.
Emma: See you soon, handsome. <3
Saturday
Noah: Super Size Me.
Emma: Super size you? … Are we sexting right now?
Noah: That’s the documentary I couldn’t remember the name of last night.
Emma: Oh my God. You cheated and googled it, didn’t you?
Noah: I would never. It came to me over lunch.
Emma: It just came to you? Hmm. Questionable.
Noah: My friend may have stopped by a drive-thru for a slushie, and it jogged my memory.
Emma: Sounds like cheating to me. And who the heck only gets a slushie???
Noah: He’s a rare breed. Are you free tonight?
Emma: Teresa and I have a catering gig till nine.
Noah: Coffee after?
Emma: Yes. My treat.
Noah: We’ll see.
Emma: You have to let me pay sometimes, Noah.
Noah: We’ll see.
Emma: Noah.
Noah: Emma.
Emma: Noah.
Noah: I’m leaving for Chicago tomorrow. I’ll be there for work till Thursday.
Emma: Don’t try and change the subject!
Noah: I thought my girlfriend might be interested in knowing when I’m leaving the city.
One agonizingly long minute later spent with Emma staring dumbly at her phone before screaming into her pillow
Emma: Girlfriend, huh?
