I hadn’t realized just how big his hands were until they glided down my sides and practically circled my waist.

That was nice.

“Darling?” Cade’s voice cut through the haze, amused. My head snapped up and almost headbutted him. The corner of his mouth twitched. “Turn around.”

I didn’t get a chance to move on my own before he was nudging me around and sliding a hand against my stomach to pull me back against him—until my butt fit snugly against his front.

My entire face radiated heat.

Thelove spreadingcontinued. Cade rubbed lotion over my arms, shoulders, and neck, while I soaked in the thorough massage. His height made it easy to reach around me, rubbing the sunscreen into my stomach and up to my chest.

Where I’d hesitated at his nipples, Cade rubbed lotion over my cleavage like a pro. It probably should’ve felt inappropriate or uncomfortable, but I enjoyed it too much to care.

The other couples may as well have vanished in a puff of smoke. All I could focus on was the self-assured way Cade touched me. His hands moved with a confidence that suggested he knew my body way more intimately than he did.

And I loved every second.

When he finished, Cade grabbed my hips and guided me back around to face him.

I could only stare at him, breathing way too heavily.

“Well?” The knowing tilt to his lips made my skin burn for reasons completely unrelated to the sun. “Was that convincing enough?”

Clearing my throat, I tried to focus on anything other than his hands.

“Yep,” I squeaked out. “I think that should do it.”

Ellie’s Guide toProfessional CuddlingBeing a Fake Fiancée, Tip #11: The best way to convince others that you enjoy spending time with your fake fiancé is to…enjoy spending time with him.

After everyone was lotioned up—and Candace had thankfully put her bikini top back on—Dr. Lovejoy gave us free rein of the beach. The only catch was we had to spend time with our partners. The other three couples followed Dr. Lovejoy straight to the cabana area with a bar and loungers.

I had no intention of joining them. After Cade’s hands set all my senses on high alert, my mind kept replaying the way he’d spun me around and pulled me up against him, over and over. Lying around and doing nothing would just make it worse.

I needed a distraction.

Badly.

Lucky for me, Cade didn’t look eager to join the others either, and miles of pristine sand called my name—just begging to be played in.

“Want me to bury you in the sand?” I offered when it was just the two of us left. “That could be fun.”

Cade didn’t even take a second to consider it. “No.”

I hummed, hitching both hands on my hips and surveying the area. There wasn’t much else to do. “You could bury me in the sand, then?”

He looked over at the others. “Wouldn’t you rather sunbathe like everyone else?”

The other couples were all relaxing on loungers, just like they’d been doing earlier on deck. Even Dr. Lovejoy had pulled out an orange polka dot one-piece with a giant matching hat.

My nose scrunched. “That’s all we did this morning, and I can only take so much lying around. I want to do something.”

Cade sighed before trudging toward the building. “There’s a shed over here that has supplies like scuba gear. We can find something in there.”
