“Violet, where the fuck are you? I want to see you.”

“I— No. I shouldn’t have done that.”

“V—”

“I have to go.” I hung up and dropped my phone to the forest floor. I groaned, hitting my head on the tree behind me. “Why would you let me do that? He’s never going to leave me alone now.”

Austin was still holding me up but thankfully he’d pulled back—his mouth at least, his fingers were still buried in me. He looked up at me with a smirk and my arousal dripping down his chin.

“Because I love it when you make a mess and…” he trailed off, pulling his fingers out slowly, causing a gush of liquid to come pouring out.

Oh. My. God. I fucking squirted.

“You made such a good mess for me, Nightshade.”

“I—”

My phone rang. Damn it, I was hoping the snow would fuck it up.

His eyes were sparkling with amusement.

“You should answer that.”

“No. He knows I’m alive, he’s not going to raise any alarm bells. He can chill.” I lowered my voice to a mumble. “I need to chill.”

“I could always answer it.”

I glared—or I tried to, I didn’t have the energy required for my usual leave of sass.

“Then he’ll definitely figure out where I am, storm over here, and blow your whole fake death plot.”

He rolled his eyes but ignored my ploy to switch the subject.

“Would you want him to join us?”

“I— What?” I sputtered.

“Did you want him to join us?” He planted lazy kisses on the inside of my legs. “I’m not one hundred percent sure I wouldn’t kill him for touching you, but I’m open to the idea of giving it a try. If it’s something you were interested in.”

“Is this a test?”

He chuckled, pulling away to set my feet back on the ground. His grip on me was still tight which was good because he was the only thing keeping me upright.

“No test. Just an option for you, if you want it.”

I eyed him suspiciously.

“I’ll think about it.”

“Excellent. In the meantime—” he scooped me into his arms. I let out a squeal that morphed into a giggle. “—you need water. And probably a snack or two.”

A second later, we were engulfed in shadows, the second after that we were standing in the bathroom. He set me down on the tile seat built next to the tub and stepped back.

I gaped at him.

“You— But we— I know you hate it when I admire your powers but fuck me, that’s incredible.”

He turned on the faucet for the bath, chuckling to himself.
