He lands with a slight bounce and a giggle. I barely give him time to settle before I’m stripping my clothes off and climbing over him.
“If I hurt you, you have to tell me, Arlo,” I say, settling my weight on him and brushing my nose over his.
“You won’t hurt me. My ribs are fine. I’m fine. Don’t you dare handle me with kid gloves. Fuck me like you mean it.”
I nuzzle his nose again. “And if I don’t?”
“I’ll cry. Make ya feel real bad.”
I can’t help but laugh. “I bet you would.” Nudging his head to the side, I drag my lips over his thundering pulse point. “I bet you’d use every tool in that toolbox of yours to make me miserable.”
The only response I get is a breathy moan.
Shaking my head with a grin, I latch onto the side of Arlo’s throat, sucking a bruise into his skin.
I’ve never left visible marks on him before. Not once. It was too much. Too exposing. Someone would have seen and pointed it out. Now I have no such reservations.
A thought hits me so abruptly that it nearly steals my breath. I pull back, staring down at Arlo’s beautiful face. “It’s been over a year.”
His eyes open, his eyebrows draw together. “What do you mean?”
“We’ve been together for a year.”
He cocks his head. “I’d hardly call it together.”
My heart slams against my rib cage. “Arlo…” Leaning forward, I kiss his nose, then his mouth. “I have loved you from damn near the start. Fuck, I think I was half gone for you before I ever even touched your body. Give me this, baby boy.”
Inhaling sharply, Arlo nods. “Happy belated anniversary, I guess. Next year, we’ll make it more special.”
That makes me laugh. “Every day is special with you.”
His face softens. “I agree.”
“If it’s all the same to you, I’m gonna go back to marking you up now.”
Without a word, Arlo tilts his head to the side, his eyes falling shut. “Yes, please.”
I dive down, peppering his throat with kisses, nibbling and sucking on the tender skin until his breathing is ragged, and he’s thrusting up against me, his cock leaking on my skin.
“Jesus, I need you to fuck me. It’s been too long.”
He’s so fucking right.
God, I’ve missed this. Him. I’ve missed him. Everything has been a fucking whirlwind since the fire. Between his injuries and the home visit and the kids, it’s all just been so much.
But goddamn, my baby boy needs me, and I sure as fuck need him, and I definitely don’t plan on making him wait any longer.
Raising off him, I grip his hip, rolling him onto his stomach.
A loud moan bursts from him, and he tilts his hips back, lifting his ass into the air.
“Shh, baby boy. It’s not just us anymore.”
He whimpers, nodding slightly. “I know. I’m trying.”
I run my fingertips down his spine, smiling when he shivers. “I thought you said you could be quiet.”
“Ican, but you can’t manhandle me like that. It’s hot, and you know it.”
