“Hey, I’m Kass.”

B is nowhere in sight, but I hear her voice drift from somewhere in the depths of the apartment. “She knows who you are, dumbass.”

Fia’s soft-looking lips tighten into a smirk. “Don’t mind her, she gets extra sassy when she’s sexually frustrated.”

“Well, then she must always be sexually frustrated when she’s around me.”

Fia laughs and steps through the door, giving me an unexpected hug. “It’s nice to meet you.”

The embrace is quick, but long enough for me to smell her floral scent. I don’t know if it’s her shampoo or perfume, but she smells delicious.

“Come on in.”

I step into the darkened apartment, only lit by a few lamps spread throughout the main living space. The external wall is made of old, worn-out brick, like the outside of the building. The rest are covered by art, hanging plants, and furniture, but I can see some cracks in the plaster peaking through. It’s cozy and warm, with no lack of personality. Exactly what I expected.

“Can I get you anything to drink?”

“Sure.”

“We’ve got beer, seltzers, wine, water…”

“I’ll take water, thanks.”

“Boring!” B follows her voice into the living room, coming from the only hallway that branches off from the main living area. She waltzes right up to me and, without saying anything else, she steps right into my face and sticks her fingers in my partially open mouth. “At least take one of these.”

They’re sweet and a bit sour. As she pulls her fingers out, I clamp my lips around them and suck, making her smile, begrudgingly, up at me.

I chew the gummy, immediately recognizing it as one of the peach-flavored edibles she gave me at the art museum.

“You trying to drug me, Blake?”

She hesitates for a moment, like she's taken aback by me calling her by her last name. The last time I saw her, I called her by herfirstname. The look she gave me almost killed me, and I don’t want to risk her chomping down on my balls later as payback, so I wanted to try out an alternative nickname. Her reaction is hard to read, but I’m not getting a death glare, so that’s a good sign.

“Possibly.”

“You know I came here voluntarily for you to take advantage of me, right? No need to knock me out first.”

She’s still standing close to me, her chest almost brushing up against mine.

Fia, who just got back from the kitchen, sets three drinks down on the coffee table, grabbing B’s attention. But it’s only a moment before her eyes are back on me. “Drink up. You’ll need to stay hydrated if you want to keep up with us.”

“Is that a threat or a promise?”

“Both.” With that, she steps back and walks over to the couch, sitting down next to Fia. "Come sit. We don't bite."

This woman.

I walk over to the couch and take a seat between the girls. They both shift in their seats so they’re sitting sideways on the couch, facing me and each other.

B

I take a good look at him as my heart races. His inkedskin covers hard muscles that would make anyone’s mouth water. And I haven’t even seen him with his shirt off yet.

We chat for a bit, making small talk that makes me want to blow my brains out. If it were just me here, we'd skip to the good part. But I promised Fia she'd get a chance to talk with him and build some chemistry before we dive in.

"Do you want some more water?" Fia asks, pointing to his empty glass on the table.

"Sure, that'd be great."
