“And what about your life, Evie? Who’s ruiningyourlife?”

I pulled in a ragged breath, looking up to meet his eyes.

“You.”

“Me? What have I done besides every fucking thing you want? Was being at your beck and call for the last ten years too much? Did I upset you when I’ve bled and been in pain to save you from hurting? Which part bothered you so fucking much, Psycho?”

“The part where you made me want you. The days you made me want you and didn’t want me back.Youruin my life, Aiden.”

His fingers grabbed my chin hard, holding my head in place as the other hand slid along my neck to my top, his fingers dragging along the same place the other guy at Syndicate had touched. He leaned down, his lips inches from mine again.

“I don’t think you’ve even had a taste of me ruining your life, but I think the only way to make you stop messing with me is to give it to you. Is that what you would rather have, psycho girl? Do you want me to ruin you?”

Heat flooded me, my legs ready to give out as I nodded. I stuttered out nonsense, trying to come up with any response, but I couldn’t find the words.

“Take it off,” he said, snapping me out of my haze.

“Take what off?”

“Your top.”

“Why would I do that?”

“Because I think you can imagine what you get when you behave.” He leaned down to kiss my neck.

“I thought you were going to ruin me.”

“Oh I am. You’ll be as ruined as I am. And then I’m going to wreck your life the way you are trying to wreck mine. I’ve played by every rule and kept my life exactly how I wanted it until you came in to wreck me. Now I will wreck you.”

“Wow, Ace,” I said, trying to catch my breath. “That almost sounds like a threat.”

“Almost? I’m going to wreck any other man for you and leave your life in pieces. Which part is an almost?”

“The part where you don’t go through with it. Where you stop everything right this second and tell me nothing can happen because you aren’t allowed to touch me.” I wanted to push him as far as I could.

My knees shook, and he grinned, reaching for the strap around my back that held up my top. His fingers worked fast, undoing the strong knot until it came undone completely. The top fell, my breasts completely exposed.

“I don’t think anyone is here to stop me. Now you need to stop asking questions and do what you’re told.”

I grabbed for the fabric draped in his palm, pulling it back up to cover myself. He leaned down, ripping it away again.

“Not so fast.” His voice was low and teasing, making a shiver run down my spine. My breath caught as he leaned in, his lips brushing against my skin, sending another shiver down my spine. His lips trailed down my neck to my collarbone, moving down along the chilled skin.

His mouth closed over my nipple, biting enough to send a sharp jolt of pleasure through me. I gasped, my hands flying to his shoulders for balance as a moan slipped from my lips. The heat of his tongue followed, soothing the sting, the contrast between the warmth of his mouth and the chill in the air making me tremble.

“Are you thinking of ways to use this against me?” he murmured against my skin, his breath warm and taunting.

“Yes.” My words came out shaky, a pathetic attempt at defiance.

He pulled back, his thumb brushing over the sensitive peak, coaxing another gasp from me. “You’re a terrible liar,” he said, his eyes locking with mine, filled with dark satisfaction.

My mind tried to stay defiant, my first instinct to shove him away for calling me out, but I didn’t want to—I wanted him. I was completely undone, drowning in the fire he stoked so effortlessly and I was going to let myself fall right into those feelings.

He finally pulled away. “You’re riding home like that, Psycho, just like you threatened. Let everyone see how much you love being on display.”

“We’re done? You want to leave now?”

“Yes. Do you really think you deserve more when you were trying all night to make me jealous?”
