We aren’t going to kill our mate after we’ve had fun with him, wolf.

Fine. Have it your way.

“Giuliana!”

“What?”

“Did you hear anything I said?”

She looked at Pasquale. Packed down with deadly weapons and gear for their trip, he was hotter than freaking life. The picture was destroyed by the knowledge he’d obviously been around a woman. Giving her a goodbye, maybe.

She’d rip off his damn dick and feed it to him.

“Who is she?”

Pasquale froze, not even breathing as he watched her.

“Cat got your tongue?”

Pussy on his tongue?! Oh, hell no. We don’t like cats. Fuck him up, Giuliana!

“Giuliana …”

Her name was a warning, but she ignored it. He wasn’t about to sit here and warn her about shit. Not after what he’d done on her dining room table. Not after he’d given her a choice.

“Who. Is. She?”

Pasquale lifted his head, a muscle working in his jaw. “Fabiana.”

That bitch. She’d already caused enough of a shit show with Dominic and Zoey. Giuliana thought the woman had learned her lesson, but apparently, she hadn’t.

“Gotcha. If you’d excuse me.” She stepped to the side to pass him and head out her door, but he moved with her.

“Fabiana isn’t your concern.”

“She is when the man who’s supposed to be mine comes in smelling like her. Now, move.”

“I’m not. You won’t touch her.”

Giuliana growled. “You can’t stop me.”

“I can, and I will. Fabiana is a member of my former pack. She’s important to me. There were other wolves around me too.”

But none whose scent permeated his fucking pores.

Important to me.

That’s what he’d said. She was important. Was she someone he was with before he’d realized he’d found a mate? Fabiana liked Alphas, and she’d always gone after powerful men. She’d played her part so nicely she’d nearly led them to war, and here she was again.

Fuck. Him.

She’d tried. If anyone ever asked, she could have no regrets. She’d attempted to have a normal wolf life, to go with the flow and let things happen. Part of her had looked forward to what it would mean to share a life with another wolf, and she’d ignored the potential bomb of Pasquale releasing his Alpha side in claiming her and what that would mean for her place among the Lombardis.

Coming harder than she ever had before seemed to have addled her brain.

“Fine.”

She’s important to him.
