“Because this is William Jensen Jones we’re talking about,” I say beneath my breath and shoot him a death stare which he returns with an air kiss. “It doesn’t matter how old he gets, or how mature he claims to be, that boy will always find a way to stir up drama.”

“On a scale of one to ten…” My closest friend, Vesper Stone, rests her chin on my shoulder. Her blue eyes sparkle with mirth as I turn to look at her. “How much trouble is he in tonight?”

I reset my attention back on the ceremony as Jensen slides the sizeable rock onto Kate’s finger and she does the same in return.

Heat pools between my thighs when Will throws me a pantie-melting wink that he has no business sending my way.

“The limit does not exist,” I confirm. “That boy will not know peace for the foreseeable future.”

“Please, Drew, make it stop”

Will

Every time Drewshoots me a scornful glare across the room, I respond with a wink.

It’s been like this for most of the evening—a few words were exchanged between us as we sat next to each other and ate food alongside family and friends, but fleeting glances and her narrowed eyes have been our main forms of communication.

Standing at the bar, I take a soda from the bartender and chuckle to myself.

Ring Pops.

My sister and wife really thought I’d pull Ring Pops out my jacket pocket.

I don’t know whether to congratulate myself on a successful prank or be concerned over their lack of faith in my ability to safeguard a couple of rings for a few hours.

“Ohhh… you are in the doghouse.”

A deep voice belonging to my captain, Silas Stanton, filters from behind me before he joins me at the bar, asking for a pint of beer.

He spins around to face the room and I mirror his movements, both of us wearing an amused smirk.

“Nah, I’m not,” I say, swallowing a gulp of soda and setting the glass on the bar behind me. The bartender slides Silas’s fresh pint of beer alongside my drink. It’s an open bar tonight, with all expenses covered by my parents, but I don’t plan on drinking.

I need to be sober for what I have planned later.

Standing around thirty feet from me, Drew tosses her hair over one shoulder and gives me another warning glare.

My dick twitches in my pants.

That’s right, Baby, keep acting all mad at me.

Silas clears his throat, jerking his chin at my wife. “You did it as pay back for the joke Drew played on you the other week, didn’t you?”

I shrug and pretend like I have no idea what he’s talking about when my captain is absolutely correct.

While my wife is no longer my publicist for the obvious reasons, I’m still a client at the company she works for, First Line PR. A couple of weeks ago, Drew thought it would be funny to pretend like the huge deal I was desperate to land with a very well-known lifestyle brand had gone south at the final hour. That instead, they’d offered it to my number one “fan” and teammate, Tristan Vaughn.

Of course, he was in on it too. The bastard called me up and offered his condolences like he somehow cared about my feelings all of a sudden.

I fell for it, hook, line, and sinker, but I promised Drew that, at some point in the near future, I’d get her back. And today presented an opportunity that was too good to turn down.

Sure, I genuinely had forgotten the rings when we stepped into the hotel lobby, but I knew exactly where they were—tucked safely into an inside pocket of my suitcase.

“Can you imagine if I played a prank on Vesper?” Silas shakes his head and tuts. “Damn… I don’t think I’d be breathing right now.”
