Letty chose that moment to saunter into the kitchen and meowed loudly. She walked through Eden’s legs under the table then made several passes around Randi’s. Eden could hear her purring.
“I guess Letty wants me to spend more time here,” Randi said, looking down at the cat.
“Oh, she does.” Eden nodded with a big smile on her face. “She’s not the only one.”
Randi chuckled.
They finished their breakfast and gathered their things for work. Randi didn’t need her car that day so she rode with Eden.
Once they made it to HLR, Eden walked into her office with Randi right behind her.
“I wasn’t sure the love birds would make it in today,” Analise said, standing in the doorway.
Randi chuckled. “We are responsible, dedicated love birds.”
Analise chuckled as she walked into Eden’s office. “We’re taking this show on the road.”
Eden exchanged a look with Randi and shrugged.
“On the road?” Randi asked.
“Yep, you two are going to author conferences,” Analise replied. “There’s a big one in Vegas. You’re our best team and you’re going.”
“Wait, I’m not on a promo team, that’s Randi’s speciality,” Eden said. “I’m your money girl, remember? You send Laura or Kristina.”
“You and Randi together got us Cari DeWare and we want more,” Analise said with enthusiasm.
“Hey,” Cari said from the doorway.
“You’re just in time,” Analise said. “Eden and Randi are going to the big book conference in Vegas.”
“Great!” Cari said. “I’ll be there. I’ll introduce you to my author friends. This will be so much fun.”
“Perfect,” Analise said. She looked at Eden and Randi. “I’ll email you the details.”
“Will you be going with us?” Randi asked.
“Oh yeah, I’ll be there,” Analise replied.
“Maybe we’ll find you a distraction,” Randi said with a grin. “You know what they say. What happens in Vegas…”
“Oh no.” Analise shook her head. “Just because you and Eden have this blissful aura surrounding you—she swept her arm in a circle—“doesn’t mean everybody else should. I’ve told you, I’m through with the dating game.”
“Have you ever thought about dating a woman?” Randi asked.
Eden’s brows flew up her forehead as she watched this exchange.
“You’ve had fun hanging out with us and our friends,” Randi added. “It’s like that, only better.”
“Hmm,” Analise murmured. “Cari, I have a few books I need you to sign.”
Cari grinned and gave them a thumbs up as she followed Analise out of the office.
Randi grinned at Eden. “I know what our next project is going to be.”
“Uh huh.”
“We’re going to introduce Analise to the sweet side of life.”
