Cam growled, flipped her onto her stomach, and raised her hips. As he fingered her center, she arched toward his touch, more than ready for the next round.
Having heard stories from the other humans on Stonefire, Emily knew dragons were a lot more to-the-point when it came to sex, and Cam’s was no different. He gripped her hips and thrust into her, the angle making her moan.
He continued to move, pistoning his hips, and the pressure built, and yet was never quite enough.
She was expecting his dragon to orgasm and then pull out. However, Cam’s fingers found her clit and stroked. As he lightly pinched her, she laid her head on the bed and cried out as wave after wave of pleasure came over her. Then his dragon stilled, releasing inside her, and she screamed.
On and on it went, almost to the point of pain.
Just when she thought she couldn’t take it anymore, her orgasm eased, and she collapsed on the bed.
Cam kissed her neck and murmured, “Okay, love?”
“Mmm. Is it the human or dragon I’m talking to?”
“Human. My dragon’s taking a quick nap before he claims you again.”
She rolled to one side, and Cam lay down to face her. He stroked her side, her hip, and back up again.
Smiling, Emily ran a hand up and down his chest, taking time to memorize the rise and dips of his muscles, and even discovering he was ticklish near his side ribs.
Cam grabbed her hand when she found the spot and brought it to his lips to kiss her palm. “I love you and would normally allow you to touch me as much as you wanted, but I kick when people tickle me, and I don’t want to hurt you.”
“You’d never hurt me, Cam.”
“I’d like to think so.” He moved his hand from her side to lazily circle her nipple. “If I do, talk to me, Emily. I want what my parents have, and they say it requires honesty and compromise. The latter won’t always be easy because I’m stubborn, but I want to make this work and make you happy.”
“Oh, Cam. Given how far we’ve come in such a short time already, I think we’ll be okay. I vow to be honest and try my best to compromise. That’s not easy for me, either, given how I’ve been fending for myself for so long.”
He kissed her gently before saying, “I’ll never try to tame your independence, but you’ll never be alone again. You not only have me and my dragon, but also my family. Not to mention you’ll soon have most of Seahaven at your back, too.”
Her eyes heated with tears. “It’s strange to suddenly have a family and a place to belong.”
He traced her cheek. “Aye, well, you belong with me, here on Seahaven. And by the end of the frenzy, we’ll be starting our own family, too.”
She resisted placing a hand over her lower belly. “I’m both excited and scared. I don’t want to mess it up.”
“You won’t, love. You have so much love to give, and between you, me, and my parents, we’re going to have to try our hardest to ensure our son or daughter doesn’t become too spoiled.”
She moved closer, until she could lay her head against his chest. “I love you, Cameron Alexander, and I’m excited for the future we’ll make.”
He hugged her closer. “Aye, me too, love. Even if the next week or two will be frantic and exhausting. Just make sure to tell me when you need a rest, and I’ll hold my dragon back for a bit.”
“You can do that?”
“With the frenzy, we have to, since the inner dragons lose most of their restraint. He’s doing okay right now, probably because he sees how tired you are, too. But once you’re rested, he’ll be out a lot and claiming you over and over again.”
She resisted a yawn. “I’m glad he knows I’m tired. Talking with all those people really wiped me out.”
He hugged her and kissed her forehead. “Then sleep, lass. I’ll make sure he leaves you alone until you wake up again.”
Fighting sleep, she said, “Maybe I should develop a serum that helps calm down the mate-claim frenzy and the dragon’s need to procreate. Maybe then true mates can take more time toget to know each other, and it’ll make the whole thing less scary for humans in the future.”
“Hmm, do you think you could do that?”
“As far as I know, no one’s really tried before. Probably because for so many decades, there weren’t that many humans mating dragon-shifters. But now? Especially if we can defeat the dragon hunters, then it might make things even easier with humans and dragons in the future, and it’ll be one less barrier or scary story to use as propaganda.”
He hugged her closer. “I have faith that you can do it, lass. And aye, it’d be nice to kiss a true mate and not worry about an instant baby.” He paused a second and asked, “Do you want to wait? I’m sure we can find something to help slow this all down.”
