Dominic crossed his arms over his chest.“I don’t think you understand who I am and who I represent here.”
Sergi stared him dead in the eyes.“I am well aware of who you represent.I, on the other hand, represent the Bratva and the Bratva doesn’t care who backs you.We represent the law in Russia and here in America.LaDonna Rinc is our prisoner and she isn’t leaving here without a Bratva escort.”
Dominic almost shouted his response, “You can’t keep her under your control! She’s an American citizen. You have no say over her.”
Sergi smiled.“This is true, we don’t but would you rather we turn her over to the American law enforcement? We can do that, but when they investigate her crimes, it will bring down more than just her.It will bring you and Oleg Partross down. Are you sure you want to do that? That would bring to light every crime and dirty deal the two or three of you have set up in the past.”
Dominic’s expression showed the rage building in his chest.“You wouldn’t dare.”
Sergi smiled.“And you are a fool if you think I wouldn’t do it.I think the High Council would be more than interested in the missing shipment of Russian explosives that was found in her warehouses and the fact that those explosives were tampered with.By someone who added biohazard material. So yes, I think they would be very interested in that.”
Dominic got up so fast his chair scraped the floor.“You bastards. You lousy rotten bastards!”
“You call us the bastards yet you were willing to sell a biohazard that would kill thousands of people.Who’s the real bastard here?”Sergi asked quietly in the sudden silence that blanketed the room.
Dominic growled and walked to the door.He then turned around and glared at him.“I’ll see you all dead for this.”He snarled.
“Before you do that,” Sergi replied.“Just know that we sent a report to Russia telling them exactly what we found and who your partners are.”His tone remained even and calm.He appeared to be nonchalant and completely unbothered.“And you might want to know that Bratva is on their way to question Oleg Partross even as we speak. He’ll more than likely be answering questions in a courtroom all night long.”
Dominic growled low and his grimace showed how he felt.He then stalked out the door.
Sergi looked over at Yuri and shrugged his neat suited shoulders as if he couldn’t understand why the man was so pissed off.
Yuri smirked.
Chapter Two
Bane looked up as Sergiand Yuri rejoined them in the security room.He smiled faintly then turned his eyes back to the screen where he followed a red dot moving through traffic.
“So what did you think?”Sergi asked him.
“His arrogance is outstanding, isn’t it?”Bane concluded quietly.“I especially liked his fantasy of you actually just handing LaDonna over to him without question.”
“I liked the part when you just ticked him off so hard that he nearly cried,” James quipped.
Felix agreed, “The man was about to drop to the floor in a child’s tantrum.”
