“I told you, you never have to be sorry to me. I am behind you every step of the way.”

I held Islah like that for a few more songs, moving us around like we were the only ones there, until I said, “You will always be mine.”

And she jumped back, looking at me strangely.

“Islah,” I said softly, confused as hell. “Are you okay?”

She shook her head at me, backing up.

“I need to go! I need to get out of here,” she yelled out before walking out of the restaurant.

I went to the table, grabbed our things, then rushed out behind her, finding her standing at the car trying to catch her breath.

I opened up my mouth to ask her if she was okay, but I could clearly see that she wasn’t.

Once I walked up on her, she looked up at me. “I am so sorry, Love.”

I nodded. “Come on, let’s get to the room. We have to get up early tomorrow.”

She nodded and got in the car.

The drive to the hotel was silent. She stared out the window while I stared at the road.

“Islah…I don’t know what is going on if you don’t talk to me, mamas,” I said softly.

She didn’t respond, and I damn sure didn’t know what else to do.

When we got back to the hotel and made it up to the room, Islah grabbed her clothes out of her bag and went straight into the bathroom, locking it behind her.

I was trying to make our night in Miami the night that we started over. The night that we talked, and she expressed what she needed, so I could give her the world.

But instead, I was left wondering what the fuck was happening.

When she came out of the bathroom, I stood up.

“Can you talk to me, Islah?” I asked her.

She looked at me like she wanted to, she started to, but then shook her head.

“I can’t, baby, not right now.”

I nodded.

“Well, can I hold you?”

She smirked. “I would love that.”

I changed my clothes, then hopped in bed with her, wrapping my arms around her, holding her close to me.

And that was where we stayed for the rest of the night until my alarm went off the next morning.

We sat up in the bed, she looked at me, and with a smile, she kissed me.

“We need to get dressed and outta here. Danny likes to talk, and we need to get back to get Amir in time.”

She nodded.

We both got dressed and were out of the room in no time, out in the hot ass Miami heat.
