A massive resonance wave crashes toward the square like invisible thunder.

Khaivor throws both arms outward.

The impact drives him to one knee. Blood spills from his mouth. Fear nearly tears the hammer from my hand.

“Khaivor!”

“I am fine,” he lies instantly.

He is not fine.

His entire body shakes now beneath the strain. Veins of silver resonance flicker visibly beneath his skin each time he forces another barrier into existence.

He is burning himself alive to protect this town.

My chest aches so violently I can barely breathe.

“Rose!” Vi shouts from nearby. “Focus!”

She is right.

If I stop now, all of this becomes meaningless.

I turn back toward the molten bronze.

Rhythm spreads through my body until the chaos around me fades into distant noise. I hear only resonance now. Harmonics. Vibrations. Layers folding together like music searching for resolution.

The destructive bell tears resonance apart because it forces domination.

This bell must do the opposite.

It must invite balance, just like how I balance Khaivor. How he resonates with me but yet creates something different.

My next strike lands softer. The tone blooms warm and deep Khaivor’s head lifts instantly.

He hears it too and I keep going.

Another violent pulse slams toward the square.

Khaivor catches it and this time his legs nearly give out completely.

The barrier flickers dangerously and screams erupt nearby.

The final shape emerges beneath my hands glowing gold-red from the furnace heat. Sweat pours down my back. My arms burn. My lungs ache from smoke and fear and exhaustion.

One final strike and the bell sings. The sound rolls outward clear and warm and impossibly steady. Every violent vibration in Bellmere pauses and bends.

The destructive resonance begins collapsing inward beneath the counter-frequency like storm waves folding into calm water. The screaming from the top falters sharply. Cracks run across the stolen bell. Father Orrick stares at it in horror moments before it shatters in his hands, the wave throwing him across town.

Silence blooms across Bellmere. Not empty silence but peaceful.

The trembling vibration seizes and the lake calms. Lanterns sway gently above stunned crowds.

And beside me, Khaivor collapses into my arms.
