“I know what I saw!You were fucking them in the living room, for all to see, taking them on both ends. What should have been mine! They were hindering you, stopping you from reaching your full potential, and you were letting them.Don’t worry, because where we’re going, they won’t find you.”

She felt her eyes fill with tears.Their intimate moments were theirs, and yet, Jon had seen them, and in his mind, everything was distorting.

“Jon ...I love them,” she tried to reason with him, but it was the worst thing she could have said to him.

“No!You just think you love them! They brainwashed you!”

“They saved me from myself! You want to know where I have been these past three years?I was kidnapped and raped for over two years before they found me.They loved me, they healed me, they...”

“Shut up!”he snarled, and the sound of his slap across her face indeed silenced her.The soreness in her head seemed to intensify, the pain so intense that it made her vomit.

“Disgusting!”he muttered, repulsion clear in his plain face. There was madness in his eyes, and Freya wondered how she hasn’t seen it before.Taking deep breaths, he seemed to be trying to control himself, but still he seemed furious.

A knock at the door distracted him.As soon as he opened the door, she heard him ask in a weary voice, “What the hell do you want?I already paid...Hey, what?”

His phrase ended in a snap and upon opening her eyes, Freya understood that whoever had knocked had also killed Jon.

The man looked at her and smiled.

“Hello, Freya.”

Chapter Forty-One

None of them was ahacker, but Connor had given the school large donations throughout the years so they allowed him certain liberties. The principal was the first to be interrogated, a she-wolf happily mated with the chemistry professor at the local university.

Speaking both as a donor and her Alpha, Connor requested the files from the school and inquired about Jon.

“He tends to keep to himself,” she said.“A bit standoffish, even by human standards.”

“Does he have an office?”

“Yes, near the computer lab.”

She led them to it, but it was closed. She had the master key and soon they were entering an office that was only slightly larger than a pantry, with one rickety desk and one chair behind it.Nothing more.

“One would think a teacher would have better accommodations.”
