“Perfect,” he rasps, voice thick with lust. “You fit me like you were made for this.”

Inch by careful inch he sinks deeper. The tendrils wrap around my thighs, holding me open and stroking sensitive spots I didn’t know existed. When he’s fully seated, the base flares gently, locking us together in a way that makes every tiny shift feel electric. We stay like that for a breathless moment—joined, pulsing, the rain masking our sounds.

Then he begins to move. Slow, powerful thrusts that build steadily. His hips roll with draconic grace, the alien texture of him stroking every wall inside me. One tendril flicks rapidly over my clit while the other teases the softness around it, pushing me toward the edge faster than I thought possible. I cry out, legs wrapping around his waist, urging him deeper.

“More,” I beg. “Don’t hold back.”

His control frays. Thrusts grow harder, faster, the hut filling with the wet sounds of our joining and his deepening growls. Sweat and rain-mist slick our skin. He bends to suckle one nipple, teeth grazing just enough to sting sweetly, while his hand grips my hip, claws retracted but fingers possessive.

The pleasure coils tighter, brighter. Every ridge, every pulse, every flex of those tendrils drives me higher until I shatter—orgasm crashing through me in waves that make my vision spark with blue light. My walls clench around his massive length, milking him.

Vyrathion roars softly, burying himself to the hilt as his own release hits. Hot, glowing seed floods me, the tendrils pulsing in rhythm, prolonging my climax until I’m trembling and boneless beneath him. He stays inside me as we come down, kissing my forehead, my cheeks, my lips with surprising tenderness.

“Mine,” he murmurs against my skin, still hard, still perfect inside me. Outside, the jungle rain continues, but in our little hut, there is only heat, and the promise of more.

It takes me a while to recover my senses.

Then I curl up on his lap, around his still stiff manhood. “This is nice.”

“Not bad, for this planet,” Vyrathion agrees, putting one hand on my shoulder and one on my butt to keep me in place.

Outside, lightning flashes and briefly turns the shelter walls silver. Darkness returns almost immediately afterward, and I feel myself beginning to drift toward sleep.

Then something enormous slams into the island.

I yelp. “What was that?”

The impact shakes the ground hard. Leaves and twigs rain from the roof. Somewhere outside, a tree cracks with a sound like breaking bone. Beside me, Vyrathion's eyes open at once, and for a heartbeat neither of us moves while we listen to the storm.

Then a deep roar rolls across the floodwater outside.

The monster has returned.

- Vyrathion-

The impact shakes me. Then an ugly roar, deep enough to vibrate through the ground beneath the shelter.

The persistent river beast seems incapable of accepting defeat. Leaves rain from the ceiling overhead while rain hammers my exquisitely woven branches hard enough to make them creak.

On top of me, Morgan jerks and sits upright. My eyes go to her before I consciously decide to look. She appears unharmed.

The observation produces a surprising sense of relief, which irritates me at once. There was no reason to assume she had been injured. The creature struck the island, not the shelter itself. Even if the shelter had collapsed, Morgan has demonstrated a remarkable ability to survive situations that should by all rights have killed her long ago.

Another roar echoes through the darkness outside.

Morgan turns toward the entrance. "That sounded close."

"Silly monster," I reply, already getting to my feet. The shelter feels even smaller than before as I duck beneath the low roof. Clyde stirs somewhere behind us, and by the time I push through the entrance flap, the little spy is already awake as well.

I pull my boots and pants on, and hand Morgan her garments.

Then I step out.

Cold rain strikes my face immediately.

For a few moments I simply stand there, letting my eyes adjust. The island is almost completely dark. Lightning flashes somewhere beyond the floodwaters, briefly illuminating the river before plunging everything back into shadow. The current looks even larger than it did before we slept. Entire trees are rushing downstream now, their roots exposed like claws as they spin through the water.
