“Haven’t you heard the saying about that. ‘Wear the hat, ride the cowboy.’ So unless you’re ready to ride the cowboy, you’re probably best off sticking to your own hat.”
Her mouth falls open. “Oh, ohh, really. Does it work the other way?”
“What do you mean?
“I mean, if you wear the hat, do you ride the cowgirl?”
My dick twitches and a bolt of need surges through me. “I’m going with yes on that.”
“Good to know.”
We let the horse out into her field, latching the gate after her, and she immediately dives into the lush spring grass, tearing away at it.
“Hungry girl,” I say. “How about you? Should we head in for lunch, too?” My body may be begging for me to satisfya different kind of hunger, but that seems unlikely in spite of the earlier innuendo. She’s been teasing me all week like this. Getting me revved up and then walking away like it’s nothing.
“Well, we have to put her tack away first. Come on.”
I trail along behind her, not even offering to lift the saddle for her this time. I know I won’t win.
Once she’s got the tack settled into its place she turns around and stalks toward me, hips swaying as she goes. Once she’s nice and close, she snatches the cowboy hat off my head and swaps it out for hers.
Chapter 17
Aura
“Lockthedoor.”
His mouth falls open as if he can’t believe this is finally happening. I arch a single eyebrow, and he scrambles to click the lock on the tack room door.
“That blanket over there.” I tip my chin in the direction of the plastic shelf stacked with neatly folded clean blankets, stashed for the winter. “Put it on the tack trunk there.”
He does what he’s told, and the rush of power washes over me.
I scan the room. “Now bring me that rope.”
“What?” He looks confused, and I narrow my eyes.
“You said you’d do what you were told. I told you this wasn’t going to happen unless you followed my instructions. Can you do that for me?”
He nods eagerly, grabbing the soft cotton lead rope and bringing it to me. I run a finger down his chest, stopping just when I get to his shiny belt buckle. He reaches up to touch me, but I push him away. “No touching. Hands behind your back.”
His hands drop slowly to his sides and then he moves them behind his back.
“Spin around.”
He slowly turns around.
“Before we really get into it, I need you to know, it’s okay to tell me if something isn’t working for you. And we should have a safe word. Just in case things get to be too much.”
He nods.
“What do you think, should we stick with the classic red, yellow, or do you want me to pick something else?”
He blinks up at me, eyes a little hazy. “Whatever you think.”
My lips curl up at the corners. “Right answer, Cowboy. I think we’ll stick with the classic. If you need me to slow down say yellow, and if you need me to stop, say red. Got it?”
“Yes.”
