I walk back into the room and dig a pair of leggings and an old shirt out of my bag. I put on the clothes, then straighten the covers on the bed and fluff out the pillows.
When I sit down on the mattress again, I think about Levi’s horrible family. It’s difficult to believe such an extraordinary man came from all that abuse and darkness.
We both survived their evil ways, and it makes me feel even closer to Levi.
A while later, the door opens, and Lick darts into the room to escape the cold. Levi comes in with two paper cups, steam billowing from them.
“I grabbed us coffee and tea from the reception area.”
“You’re the best,” I gasp as I shoot up to take my cup from him. I sip on the tea and let out a moan. “So good. Thank you.”
“You moan like that again, and I’m going to fuck you straight through the night.”
His words have my eyes widening and the cup stopping midway to my mouth.
Holy crap, that’s hot.
“It also doesn’t help if you look at me like that,” he warns me, a smirk tugging at his lips.
I drink more of my tea while Levi’s eyes remain locked on mine. He takes a sip of his coffee, then places his cup on the small table where his laptop is.
My tea is forgotten as he slowly begins to prowl toward me, his gaze never leaving mine. He takes the cup from my hand and sets it down on the bedside table before his head dips and his teeth tug at the sensitive skin beneath my ear.
My eyes drift closed from how hot and amazing the moment feels, and when Levi begins to remove my clothes, my abdomen greedily clenches, desperate to have him inside me again.
Once we’re both naked, we fall onto the bed, and with wild kisses and loving touches, we get lost in each other once more.
Chapter 26
Levi
As we drive out to the farm, I’m nervous as fuck. I really hope Kelcie falls in love with the place like I did.
Her phone begins to ring, and she quickly digs it out of her handbag. “Oh, it’s Jordan!” I listen as she answers, “Hi. Thanks for calling back.”
I realize she’s put Jordan on speaker when I hear him say, “How are things between you and Levi? Did you get to talk to him?”
“Yes. Everything is good between us,” she answers. “Levi reminded me about Christmas. We’re still coming through to you, right?”
“Hell yes,” Jordan replies.
“But we’ll only drive through on Christmas Eve. I already took over your house for three weeks, so we won’t visit for a week like we initially spoke about.”
“I understand.”
It’s only then that I realize Kelcie never told Jordan he’s on speaker, and he probably has no idea I’m listening in on the call. It tells me Kelcie isn’t worried that Jordan will say anything bad about me, and it goes to show what good people they are.
“Hi, Jordan,” I greet him.
“Oh, hey. How are you?”
“Much better now that your sister has forgiven me.”
Jordan lets out a chuckle. “You struck gold with her, but please be gentle with her heart.”
I glance at Kelcie, who’s grinning from ear to ear. “I’ll treasure her.”
“Are we good?” I ask him.
