I’m up from my seat and in his arms in an instant. Although I’m positive it’s our mouths that connect first.
My hands grip his shirt, while his roam my body from my waist and up my back. They thread through my hair as he pulls me closer.
“Fuck, I missed you,” he whispers in between our kisses.
“I missed you, too,” I mumble, but then it clicks, and I yank my head back. “Okay, I know I was a little busy during your game, but I most definitely saw you playing, so did you ditch the team or…?”
This smug smirk comes to his face. “No, the team flew back tonight. I wanted to surprise you.”
Oh, I’m going to kill him. I’m so happy to see him, but also I’m going to kill him.
“You mean to tell me you lied about coming home tomorrow? What the hell? If I wasn’t so damn happy to see you, I’d?—”
“You’d what?” He cocks an eyebrow. “Tell me, what would you do, baby?”
This man.
My brain is glitching. He’s so gorgeous and smells so damn good for, I’m sure, sweating all day at the ball field then the long flight home.
I want nothing more than to go straight home with him, but I have to get this quarterly budget report done tonight or it’ll be in the back of my brain all day tomorrow. It was on the list for must-get-done today; therefore, itmust get done.
“You’re pushing it, All-star. Maybe I’ll make you put me down, and I’ll see you tomorrow at the time you told me you’d be home. I actually was in the middle of something. And if you’d told me you were coming, I could have planned for this.”
His smug smile still remains as he carries me back over to my seat. “By all means, baby. Don’t let me stop you.”
He angles my chair to the side, then drops to his knees.
My heart pounds heavy in my chest as I shift my weight back and forth on my hips. “What are you doing?”
That signature serious Adam look comes to his face. I’ve seen it so many times in this bar, but there’s something about this one that has a bit of deprivation to it.
“You finish up work. I’m starving after that flight.”
“Adam…” My words die off as he trails kisses up my thighs. I hook one leg over his shoulder. My breathing gets heavy. “Some of my employees could still be here.”
“Mia, you had two bartenders up front…but with the way I charged back here to see you, I think they got the hint.” He places one more kiss to my inner thigh before meeting my eyes. “I can stop if you want me to, and I’ll happily sit in that chair and watch you work.”
I want his head between my legs, I really do, but there’s this one part of my brain that yells louder than everything else.
“Don’t get up. I swear, I want sex right now, but there’s no way my brain will let me get there knowing I didn’t finish this. Two minutes, I promise.”
I feel Adam’s breath against my inner thigh as he chuckles. “Take all the time you need. I can wait right here.”
He bites my thigh gently and my core tightens.
“Adam, it’ll take longer if you keep distracting me.”
He switches to my other leg and trails a few kisses down from my knee. “I’m patient.”
My body shakes when he gives another playful bite. Is this what I have to look forward to every time he comes home? God, I hope so.
Taking a deep breath, I do my best to laser in on my screen. I’m almost done. I’ve done so many of these, and I really justneed to enter a few more numbers, then I can just let Excel do its thing with the formulas.
That’s all I need. A few more numbers. But easier said than done when Adam’s mouth is tracing my legs.
Maybe I was wrong and I can orgasm without finishing this. When my hand threads through his hair, he looks up at me with a wicked glint in his eyes.
“Finish it, Mia.”
