“My wife is my lucky charm.” He realizes what he just said, then grabs one of the communication books and points to a line in the blurb on the back. “Speak your wants and needs clearly. The important people around you are always listening.”

Mack is already learning and growing. Mindful of my needs, and ready to care for me. Introducing me as his girlfriend and calling me his wife.

There’s a warm, floaty feeling through the center of my chest. A light, swirling pressure. No, a release. As if all my reservations and tension have dissolved at once.

Happiness. Joy. It’s all right here for the taking. All I had to do was let go.

“You okay, baby? You zoned out for a second.”

“Yeah.” My hands cup his face, bringing us close. “I’ll check my lease, and move in as soon as I can.” His lips part and I put a finger to them. “But no proposing before our sixth-month anniversary.”

He nods firmly, then moves my finger out of the way, kissing me in a way that makes fire start at my inner thighs, then quickly blaze all the way up my throat.

“I’d better show you the bedroom before you move in, my love. What if you didn’t like it?”

“That’s an amazing plan.”

EPILOGUE

MACK

* Two Years Later *

Ispend a lot more time in the office these days.

Not just because Layne and I get everything done so much more quickly when we’re at the same desk, hashing out schedules and assignments.

But also, the lunchtime perks can't be beat.

The first two months Layne and I were together, I was a bit leery of having her in the office in case one of the men I employ happened to come in. Then I remembered she'd been there for a month alone and was quite able to take care of herself.

I stretch my shoulders, then attack the last few emails that need attention while keeping an eye on the clock.

I put an engagement ring on Layne's sweet finger exactly six months after our first weekend together. She assumed I’d wait until our lucky seven-month anniversary, but I saved that date for our wedding.

Now, since everything is running like a well-oiled machine, I've been encouraging my beautiful wife to work shorter hoursand take most Fridays off. It's good practice for when she gets pregnant…which, hopefully, will be any day now.

By the time Layne walks in the door, my mouth is watering just thinking about which way I'll take her today.

She closes and locks the door behind her, and I almost forget how to breathe as I stare at my luscious wife. Today she's wearing a knee-length, short-sleeved dress that shows off her sculpted calves and incredible tits to perfection.

I love that my girl has two distinct looks. Stylishly quiet bombshell in the office and in public. At home, she prefers yoga pants, loose sweaters, and putting her hair in a messy topknot, but she’s still incredibly hot.

Layne walks toward me, swinging her hips seductively as she approaches my desk. "Why, Mr. Wentworth, have you been waiting for me?"

I cross the office in three strides, making her gasp when I lift her so she can wrap her legs around my hips. My kiss is savage, hungry.

"Wow," she moans. "Someone’s excited. You really have been waiting for me."

“I was just thinking about getting you pregnant," I groan, unbuttoning the front of her dress. I've learned the hard way that she doesn’t like it when I just tear it off her.

Her lovely blue eyes sparkle.

"What?"

"Nothing,” she giggles. “I'll tell you later."

I set her back down to unbutton the entire front of her dress. When I spread it open, I'm given a perfect view of her peachy pink lingerie.
