“Trust me, my mother is the same way. Can’t stop buying baby shit, like Paityn is already pregnant.”

Andrew barked out a laugh. “Now that’s hilarious.”

Bishop took a long gulp of water. “So, what’s up, bruh? I’ve read the headlines, seen the pic. You finally made a move on Paige, huh?”

Frowning, he asked, “What do you mean ‘finally’?”

“You should probably stop denying that shit.” Bishop set his bottle on the table. “It’s been obvious for years.”

Andrew waived a dismissive hand at his friend. “Man . . . shut the hell up.”

“Seriously, we had bets on it.”

“What?” Andrew asked.

Bishop laughed. “I told X you would make your move after her divorce. He said you’d never step over the line.”

Shaking his head, Andrew grumbled a curse. X was right, though. If they hadn’t been in close proximity, he would have never stepped over the line. He told Bishop as much.

“Good thing I don’t have to give X that money,” Bishop said. “You did step to her after the divorce.”

“Whatever, bruh.”

Bishop sighed. “Well? Is this a thing now? Should I tell Paityn so she can invite you and Paige over for dinner?”

Chuckling, Andrew said, “I don’t know when we’ll be able to go to dinner parties together. We have to keep a low profile for the next month or so.”

“I don’t see that happening.”

“It has to.” Truth be told, Andrew wasn’t confident he could stay away from her either. They’d have to get very creative about time spent together. “I don’t want to do anything that will make it harder for her to emerge from this latest scandal with her reputation intact.”

Bishop glanced at his watch. “Shit, I need to go home. Paityn has me on a strict regime of scheduled sex. Gotta get her pregnant.”

Laughing, Andrew walked Bishop to the door. “Let’s get a meeting on the schedule. I want to go over the spreadsheets you sent for Audio.”

“I’ll set something up.”

Andrew shoved his hands in his pockets. “Tell Paityn I said what’s up.”

“Will do. Tell Paige we’ll invite you both to dinner when you stop hiding.”

“Get the hell out of here, man.”

As Bishop walked out of his off ice, laughing at himself, Andrew couldn’t help but wonder if dinner parties and babies were inhisimmediate future. And he found himself looking forward to the possibilities.

Paige opened her front door for Demi. “Come in.”

“Hey.” Demi walked into the house. “How are ya?”

“I’m good. Thanks for dropping by so late. I appreciate it.” The plane had landed less than an hour ago, and Paige had immediately contacted her attorney to set up a meeting to discuss the latest motion to reopen the divorce case. “I just felt like I needed to get an understanding of our next steps.”

“Not a problem.”

Paige led Demi into her den. “Wine? Coffee?”

“No, thanks.” Demi sat down on the love seat and set her briefcase on the coffee table. “I have late dinner plans.”
