“I hate him for hurting you,” I whispered.

She wiped a tear from my face. “I know.”

“I love you so much, Bliss. I’m always going to be here for you.” I smoothed a hand over her belly and told my niece, “And you too.”

“We know that too.”

I rested my head on her belly. “Don’t tell anyone I cried.”

Bliss laughed. “I won’t. Your secret is safe with me. But can I tell you something?”

I felt the baby kick under my palm. “Yes.”

“It’s time for you to get some.”

I barked out a laugh. “You’re silly.”

“Like, yesterday.”

“Really, Bliss? We’re having this discussion right now?”

Chuckling, she patted my back. “It’s time. Punishment’s over.”

I told her about Lennox, about our talk tonight, about the way he’d been there for me as if we’d known each other for years. “I don’t know… I like him.”

“Did he tell you how he knows you yet?”

I shook my head. “Not yet. He will, though. I think I like the game.”

“That’s something I haven’t heard in a while.”

“How about ever?” I retorted.

Her soft laughter sounded like music to my ears. “Right?” she said. “I don’t think you’ve ever told me youlikedsomeone before.”

“I hugged him,” I confessed.

Bliss’ eyes widened. “What?”

Of course, I hugged my family and close friends, but I wouldn’t consider myself ahugger. “I know. Surprised the hell out of me. I don’t even know him, but he’s so sweet—and male.” I sighed. “And the way he handled me… I just feel different around him.” I looked at her, biting down on my lip. “Weird, right?”

She nodded. “Very. There’s nothing wrong with agoodguy. And this could be agoodthing. I need to know more.”

I pointed at her. “So you can try to match us, Sissy? I’m not one of your clients.”

Bliss shot me a mischievous smirk. “I promise, no matchmaking. If something happens, it’ll be on you and Lennox. Not me.”

“Is it wrong to want to see what he’s working with before I do anything else?”

“Girl!” She smacked my shoulder.

Shrugging, I said, “I’m just sayin’! No sense in continuing if he can’t put it down.” Yet, even as I said that, I instinctively knew that wouldn’t be the case with Lennox. Then again, I’d misjudged Dr. Donnell.

“Stop,” she ordered. “You went without sex for a long time. Just enjoy the process. Get to know him. When the time is right, you’ll get busy.”

A knock drew our attention toward the door. Dallas entered the room. “Enough. I need to be in this room with my sisters.” She climbed onto the bed, on the other side of Bliss, and pulled out her phone. Seconds later, Paityn appeared on the small screen. “I’m in here, Sissy.”

Paityn grinned. “About time. I needed to see you all together.” My big sister had just left town yesterday to head back to Cali. “I knew I should’ve stayed until Monday.”
