“I’ve known you all of two months and just got out of a relationship and I asked you to put a baby in me,” she said, blushing. “That’skind ofcrazy.”

“It’s not,” I said. I leaned down to press a kiss to her lips, thumb grazing her cheekbone, and I stayed close to look into her eyes. “Some things—you just know it’s right. I knowyou’reright. Known it since the minute you walked into my bar, maybe since Nell told me she felt safe with you.”

She looked at me for a long moment, something moving across her face.

“When are you talking about?” she said quietly. “With Nell?”

“First day of school,” I said. “She turned around in the doorway and saidI’m okay, Dadand meant it. Two years of nightmares and she meant it after one morning with you.” I paused. “I was done.”

She nodded. “Okay…okay.”

Only then did she relax.

After she knew our girl was safe.

And fuck…that was why I loved her.

I just needed to figure out how to say it.

My hand wandered down his chest…down, lower to his waist, to his cock. I wrapped my fingers around him, finding him hard.

I hooked one leg over him and somehow managed to pull myself up to straddle him, and I found his eyes open.

“Good morning,” he grinned.

I bit my lip, lined him up with me…sank down.

We both moaned.

“Morning,” I finally said.

I rode him in the morning light, my hands splayed across his chest, his breath coming in short, pleasured groans. There was no pretense now, no dirty talk—just us, nothing stopping us from feeling each other. He moved his hands to my hips, his eyes closing.

He was so gorgeous. Perfect. I didn’t care that we weren’t quite the same age, he was just…
