“Wanna come out with us instead? Millie’s friends are here tonight and I was just asking Josh to join, but he doesn’t want to be the single man out.”

I glared at Jake. My face said, that was subtle, you dick.

“Oh, uh,” she stared at me for what seemed like reassurance or a way out, I couldn’t tell at this point.

“Please save me from their meddling ways,” I added sarcastically.

She chuckled. “Sure.”

She left the room and Jake stood there grinning at me like he just did me the world’s biggest favor. He kinda did, it wasa great way to break the ice in small steps, but I couldn’t tell him that.

“Is there something between you and April?” Carlos questioned, standing a little too close to me, his hot breath wafted in my face.

“What if there is? It isn’t against the rules.”

Carlos’s eyes bugged out of his head. “Really, Josh? April?”

“What’s wrong with April?” Jake demanded quicker than I could.

“She’s part of the team! You can’t use her for your gain.”

“I’m not using her,” I defended myself, although it was kind of true. And that realization made me feel like a dick. Even if it was a two-way street.

Carlos scoffed. “Right, we’ve been working with her for how long, and nothing. I’ve seen the girls you date. She isn’t your type.”

“Maybe I needed to find a woman, and not a girl,” I retorted with gritted teeth.

“Sure, right when you’re losing a bet,to me,about love? Does she even know about it or are you pretending with her so you can win? Because that would just be fucking low of you.”

“You’re the one who forced me into this.” My teeth clenched so hard I could hear them grind into each other. “And for the record, no one is pretending anything.”

He scowled, “Okay, but don’t think I’m suddenly going to believe that the two of you have anything real going on.” He checked me with his shoulder before walking out of the doors.Asshole.

My entire mood shifted into angry, fuck-you territory.Pretending?No. Maybe? The problem was, I wasn’t sure anymore. The minute I was buried deep inside April, it had changed. My priority wasn’t the bet, it was her. Except, I wasn’t sure it had changed for her. She’d had this wholeconversation about being friends with benefits, how it suited our situation. No one would get hurt because it was all fake. She wasn’t wrong. But the way Carlos insinuated I was doing something to her that would crush her for my benefit, was just fucking wrong. Even if he had no idea what we had agreed to. I didn’t like it. Or him.

CHAPTER 30

APRIL

The room clock blinked 12:24 a.m., Josh’s soapy scent was laced in the fabric of my hotel room sheets. His arms were wrapped around me. My oversized band t-shirt, that was nowhere near covering my ass, was pressed firmly against him. His erection was already ßforming. I wanted nothing more than to reach over and tug on it.

It was then he shifted into me, moaning, and damn, did I love that sweet sound. I knew exactly what he wanted. We had just finished cleaning up from the last round an hour ago. As soon as we hit the hotel, he was insatiable.

“Josh.”

“Hmm.” He gripped onto my skin tighter. His cock was like iron. I rubbed my ass against it and reached back gripping on to his shaft.

“Are you awake?”

“Yes.”

His hands skimmed across my hip to the swell of my ass cheek, cupping it perfectly in his hand. My clit was already throbbing, to the point I was trying to not rub my legs together. His lips found the back of my neck. I crooked itcloser for him to have more access, he had this fantastic knack for hitting that sweet spot just behind my ear that could make me orgasm. I twisted around, so I was on my back.

His hands wandered further south and his fingers dipped under my pantie line, shifting it out of the way, brushing across the soft curls of my entrance. His fingers spread me apart and I knew I was wet. He wasted no time dipping in. I started riding his fingers and it was fucking hot.

“You like that?” He groaned, pushing harder against me, making me gasp.

“Yes.”
