“I bottled my last heat, so I am not going to be receptive for another four weeks.”
Mia grinned.“So now we not only get to branch into sportswear, but kids’ sportswear.”
“Fine, but you have to find ways to make it for more than one size.Your stuff is pricey.”
“Our stuff.You are our marketing director and a full partner.”
Meeda blushed.“I keep forgetting.”
Mia sighed.“I know, but you are stuck with me, Meeda.Forever and beyond.”
Meeda grinned.“Oh, no.Whatever will I do?”
Akervel chuckled.“This is something you do often?”
Meeda shrugged.“It’s a routine now.But, Mia, if the idea of kids makes you queasy, let me know.I will figure something out.”
“Don’t be ridiculous.You having kids is something I have been dreaming about.I am going to get a nursery ordered, just in case.”She smiled and rubbed her hands together.“Sorry, Akervel, Meeda and I are a set.You end up with a bitchy, sterile omega as a sister-in-law.”
Akervel smiled and sipped his coffee.“I am not complaining.”
Mia’s phone rang, and she got up to answer it, walking to the edge of the deck before returning with a grin.“She’s here.”
Meeda frowned.“Who’s here?”
“Harper.She was on Emerald and came over on the morning ferry.So you have your siren.”
“She isn’t a siren; she’s a vocalist with astonishing power.And a bunch of other stuff,” Meeda murmured.
Mia smiled.“Maybe she could sing at your wedding.”
Meeda froze.“Oh, right.I forgot you wanted me to have one of those.”
“They are just finishing an event centre on one of the islands.I think it would be nice for you two to have a small ceremony there.”
Akervel grinned.“It sounds like it would be lovely.”
Meeda looked at him.“Uh-huh.”
She looked from Mia to Akervel and said, “I am going to go find Harper.I hope I remember what she looks like.”
Akervel asked, “Would you like company?”
“No.She’s shy.I will bring her to Serin, and we can get things set up.From what I remember, she doesn’t like to waste time.”
Mia nodded.“I will let Serin know you are coming.She’s a bit slower now that she is nearly at term.”
Meeda smiled.“Thanks.”
Vine and Kazuya wandered out, and Meeda smiled.“There.You have a playmate.”She kissed Akervel, and he sighed and kissed her back until she stroked his cheek and headed for the main routes.
She heard Kazuya’s laughter and kept walking.

Kazuya looked at himand grinned.“Scourge of the seas reduced to needing a playdate?”
Akervel took some fruit and bit into it.“I am the proud mate of a flying mermaid.She can call me sweetie in public if she likes.I will wear it with pride.”
