I chewed my bottom lip, hiding a smile.

“Okay, so I went through some details with Troy, and we have a few ideas.” Rowan opened several documents on his laptop.

“I can’t deal with another loan.” I had to make it clear off the bat.

“I know,” Rowan said.

“And before you start, thank you, but I won’t accept your money either.” I patted Rowan’s knee.

Rowan smirked. “I was about to offer.”

“I know.” I gave him a quick kiss.

Rowan cracked his knuckles. “I told Troy about your bingo and Karaoke nights, which bring the locals and the seniors in.”

I lifted my hand. “I won’t charge for them, so that’s off the table.”

“He said you’d say that.” Troy hid his smile behind his cup of latte.

“I was thinking of introducing a light dinner or snack package for these events, but I need to order a lot upfront to test the waters, and I can’t risk even that amount of money at this point.”

“You’re trying to do everything by yourself,” Troy said. “You may want to look into sponsorships, and there’s a grant we could help you apply for.”

We discussed more details, and with every good idea came monetary consequences.

“All of this is great. I will still need a miracle to pull this off and prove that this place is a staple of the community. It’s hard to tell if you’re here in the middle of a day on a slow week.”

“I saw how bingo and karaoke nights bring the town together.” Rowan added with a straight face even as he was drinking cum coffee. “The Happy Life Senior Home bus brings the people here, and they can enjoy an evening away but in a familiar environment. I’ve seen that locals come over to chat with their old neighbor or a friend of their late grandparent. Troy, you should see it. It’s nothing short of a post-credit scene from a happy movie.”

“I love running these evenings. Entry is free for everyone, and I won’t change that.” I looked both men in the eye.

Troy was making notes on his phone. “We can work around this, right, Rowan?”

Rowan was sipping his coffee, sitting with his legs crossed and nodding. “Yeah. I have an idea or two, but I’d have to run the numbers and make some calls.”

“Thanks, guys.” I stood up and kissed Rowan’s cheek and lingered by his ear. “Meet me at my house after work for more of what’s in your coffee.”

A soft blush spread on Rowan’s cheeks, but his expression remained serious. “See you later.”

“You’re so gone, man,” Troy said when I had my back to them.

“Shut your face, loverboy,” Rowan quipped.

The snorty laugh that came out of me was involuntary, and I hurried to return to work.

Naughtiness in public needs boundaries and consent, I know. But this is fiction, untwist your panties.

I let myself into Milo’s house with the key he’d given me when he’d been recovering from the accident and never wanted back. “I hope it’s okay I’m early,” I yelled from the hall, setting my laptop bag on the sidetable.

“Yeah. I’m in the bathroom.”

I followed his voice to the doorway and took in the view of Milo stretched in a tub full of bubbles.

The sink counter was riddled with dildos, dilators, and butt plugs. But what drew my attention was the inflatable plug I hadn’t seen before.
