“Aw, a sad little nugget?” Delaney cooed, looking up at her husband, who was now wearing an indignant frown.

“I’m going to kill all of you,” Blake said, his gaze darting around and specifically landing on Sully before turning back to Delaney. “Except you, sweetheart.” He paused before adding, “Might kill Austin Long, though.”

Delaney laughed, shaking her head, and even though I had no idea who Austin Long was, I smiled.

“I remember seeing you all on TV,” I said before I could really think about the consequences of that.

“You did?” Sully asked first, breathing in my ear.

Luckily, I was saved from answering by Gemma’s groan. “Oh,God. The TV. Don’t remind me.”

“We were on TV?” Blake asked, still frowning.

“Yeah. I didn’t know either until my brother saw it,” Gemma sighed.

Sully snorted. “Didn’t he, like, notknow you were here that weekend?”

“Uh-huh.” She put her hands on her hips. “So that went over well.”

“A miracle that Noah survived to tell the tale, honestly,” the woman beside Gemma said, who, though not quite as tall, was equally beautiful and redheaded. I’d learned her name was Janie before coming over today.

On the other side of Gemma, Theo stilled as Janie’s words lingered in the air.

“Julian’s bark is worse than his bite,” Cameron chuckled as he appeared in the kitchen, coming to the defense of his friend.

Or maybe to the aid of Theo.

“Juniper is far scarier, in my opinion,” Natalie chimed in. “I think she made—” She hesitated when she realized her daughter was still within earshot. “—someonecry during our custody trial.”

I knew exactly who that someone was, and it made me smile again.

“Julian and Juniper should have come this weekend,” Blake said casually. “That would have been fun.”

“They’re actually watching Delilah and Winnie,” Gemma said. “At my parents’ house. They’re in baby boot camp.”

“God, I can’t believe Julian’s going to be a dad,” Janie muttered.

“I can’t believe they’re going to havetwins,” Gemma added.

Sully’s arms tightened a bit, and I snuggled deeper into them.

I tuned the rest of the conversation out when Sully’s husky voice found my ear. “Are you okay?”

I nodded, even as my stomach churned a little. Did a part of me ache at the mention of babies and pregnancy and parenthood? Of course. But I’d rather this than have anyone tiptoe around the topics.

“Are you?” I asked softly before feeling Sully nod.

“We probably should have talked about what we were going to say to everyone about us before coming over here. I hope this—” He adjusted his arms around me. “—is okay.”

I glanced back at him. “It’s more than okay.”

“Good.” He nuzzled closer, lowering his voice. “Because I’m so fucking done pretending you’re anything other than mine.”

Smiling to myself when Sully kissed my temple, I was about to respond when I felt a tug on my jersey sleeve and looked over to see Chloe. Her gaze darted from me to her uncle before she lifted onto her toes and cupped her hand around her mouth to whisper in my ear.

“Was it the LEGOs?”

A wide grin split onto my face as I pulled back to look at her shining, excited expression.
