“I have, and she’s ready to take this state into a new direction, one we are in desperate need of. She’s a strong woman who I feel can bring progressive changes to this great state, and she has the knowledge and experience to do so.”

The interviewer chuckled. “Is this some sort of girl power movement?”

Lucy laughed. “No, not in the slightest. As a matter of fact, Senator Robins was with me during one meeting last week with Ms. Herbert, and I think even he was impressed.”

“Oh, she’s setting him up,” Alex muttered.

“Are we to expect him to switch his endorsement as well?” The interviewer looked like she was getting the best news story of her career.

“You’ll have to ask him.” Lucy smiled, and I truly believed her. Politicians were great liars.

“How quickly do you expect Steven to make a statement?” Dean questioned.

Gideon shrugged. “I’m sure after this interview, he’ll be hounded and forced to say something.”

“He has a lot to lose if he doesn’t.” I followed everyone back outside.

“What’s to say Benito doesn’t expose the senator of all his hidden secrets the same as you threatened to once he endorses Solange?” Rita lifted the netting bowls from the food, and we all began filling our plates.

“The prostitute is gone. What Benito did with her I don’t know, but I’m sure she’s dead.” Gideon frowned. “The casino owner, however, owes me a very big favor, and has no love for Benito Calvern and his family. Benito has no physical evidence; that all lies with me now.”

“And the casino owner,” Dean pointed out.

“Nope. He has nothing, so if Benito wants to expose Steven, he will have to ask me for the evidence.”

Danny snorted. “I won’t hold my breath.”

“It amazes me how politicians are always preaching change and peace and getting criminals off the streets when they’re the worst part of humanity.” Mila sighed, and Alex pulled her to him, kissing her temple.

“You’re right, babe.”

“Of course I am.” She smirked, and everyone laughed.

We all finished dinner and enjoyed the summer weather, staying outside until the sun kissed the sea. Olivia and Owen passed out in front of the TV, melting bowls of ice cream on their laps.

“I’ll get Livy; you get Owen?” Gideon asked as he shut off the television.

“Deal.”

Neither one woke up as we carried them or wiped their sticky hands and faces. They’d need to brush their teeth extra good in the morning, but I wasn’t fucking waking them up to do that. One night wouldn’t kill them.

I met Gideon in the bedroom. He was already stripping and walking into the ensuite. I made quick work of my clothes and followed behind him. He looked over his shoulder with a sexy grin.

“Can I help you?”

I nodded. “You can, or I could help you.” I pointed out his erection.

“Hmm…maybe we could help each other out.”

“Solid plan.”

We washed ourselves, my gaze never leaving his toned, delicious body and his staying glued on me.

He shut the water off, and I threw him a towel that he haphazardly dried himself with before he barreled into me. I stumbled a few steps, finally tumbling onto the bed.

“Put your head at the bottom of the bed,” he ordered, and I happily complied.

I figured out what he was doing when his knees went onto either side of my head and his cock dangled in front of my face.
