“Fuck, Colt,” he pants and wiggles back against my erection. “I want to see you come, too.”

“Then turn around.”

I release him from my hold, and he turns toward me, his cheeks flushed and lips parted as he watches me stroke myself. His hands slide over my chest and down until they rest on my hips briefly. Ethan’s gaze meets mine, and he leans in to kissme while he covers my hand with his and slows my movements.

“Let me?” he whispers against my lips, and I can only nod as Ethan first lets his fingertips dust over my balls and thighs. His lips touch my chest, and I spear my fingers into his hair. His hand is nothing more than a lazy caress on my dick, but it’s all I need.

“Ethan…” My body shakes as my orgasm seems to wring the remaining energy from my bones. Ethan’s hand continues to move slowly over my softening cock as he nuzzles into my neck. I don’t remember ever feeling this content. This alive.

“Are you warmer now?” I croak as I draw my arms around him.

It’s then that the shower water has a noticeable dip in temperature, and we both jolt.

“Wash off quick before we get cold water and have to do this all over again.”

“That wouldn’t be an awful thing,” Ethan says with a laugh before the water drops another bit of warmth, and he quickly rinses to step behind me. “Okay. Not in the cold. I’ll rephrase that.”

Steam still fills the bathroom, and I wrap him in my fluffiest towel after patting him dry. His lips twitch as he stands and lets me take care of him. After drying myself, I wrap the towel around my waist, and Ethan nods his approval.

“I thought I liked you in the river with a cigar.” He appraises me in the bathroom with my towel. “This, though? My favorite.”

“I don’t think I want to ride a horse wearing only a towel.”

“Not even if I’m the horse?”

“Oh my god, Ethan.” I laugh and kiss him quickly. “Come on. Let’s get you cozy and warm, and I’ll take that into consideration.”

Chapter 14

Ethan

The rain still falls outside in heavy sheets as I sit cocooned in a fleece horseshoe pattern blanket, snuggled against Colt’s warm body.

The chill left long ago, but I wasn’t about to say no as I watched Colt rummage through unpacked boxes until he found the perfect blanket. He had an aura of determination, like it meant something more than I could understand for him to do this for me.

He wrapped the snuggly blanket around me while he walked around shirtless in a pair of lounge pants patterned with trout. Very Colt.

Right now, he’s sitting next to me on the couch with his feet propped on the coffee table and flipping through TV channels.

“I don’t have full cable, and I don’t watch much TV,” he says, and I can’t say I’m surprised.

“That’s okay. Who even has cable these days? You can get an app and just stream most things.”

“Oh, of course,” he says, making me smile into the blanket.

“I’ll show you sometime, but right now I’m sort of hungry. I assume there’s no late-night pizza place or anything here?”

He shakes his head. “I’m afraid not, but I can make you something. What are you in the mood for?”

“That’s a loaded question, cowboy.” I laugh, and Colt elbows me.

“Come to the kitchen so we can decide.”

After plopping myself in my blanket at the table, I watch as Colt pokes around his fridge and cupboards before announcing he can make a cheese omelet, cheese nachos, or flatbread pizza. With extra cheese.

“If none of those appeal, I also have popcorn and cereal.”

“Pizza!” I laugh, and Colt sets the oven while he places all the items on the table in front of me. After passing me a cutting board and knife, we work together, chopping vegetables and grating cheese. It’s such a simple thing, us preparing a meal together like this, but it feels more than that.
