"Where are you going?" Aggie demanded. "You're nay finished breaking your fast."

"Indeed I am." Cat picked up the sporran. "I'm taking this to Sir Torr. He might need it."

Eager to see him again, she rushed to his chamber and knocked. A moment later, he opened the door wearing a different plaid and a doublet. His sensual, caring gaze drew her in, making her realize again how much she loved him.

"How handsome you look." She stepped inside and handed him the sporran.

He gave a brief bow. "I appreciate it." He closed the door behind her. "I've just finished scribing a missive to my brother, telling him about the curse being lifted and our intention to marry."

A pang of anxiety struck her. "Oh. I hope he approves of me."

"Of course, he will. He knows Brodie and a few other members of your clan. If we had more time, I would take you to meet him today, but we must travel to Farspag as soon as possible."

"Indeed."

"My whole clan will love you." Torr gave an encouraging grin. "You're the strongest, canniest, and most beautiful lady in the kingdom."

Amusement at his sweet exaggeration wound through her. "You flatter me unmercifully, sir."

"What I've said is true, lass. You amaze me." Sincerity gleaming in his eyes, he pulled her to him and gifted her with an indulgent and dreamy kiss. "I wish we were already married."

Thrills spiraling through her, she smiled. "As do I."

He kissed her cheek and down the side of her neck, intensifying the tingles.

He pulled back, eyes darkening further. "Aggie might murder me if I take you now."

Arousal heated Cat from the inside out. "She will never know of it."

He lifted a doubtful brow. "She will be keeping an eye on you until we marry."

"It matters not to me. I want you now." Fisting his doublet, she tugged him to her.

After barring the door, he removed her cloak and pulled the smock off over her head. He trailed his gaze over her with considerable approval, then carried her to his high bed and lay her upon it.

"You have on too many clothes," she whispered.

He quickly removed them, tossed them aside, and climbed onto the bed.

Within seconds, he was making love to her. Oh, the pleasure of it. He felt magnificent. The heat and excitement near consumed her like a raging fire. 'Twas all she could do to keep from crying out at the delightful sensations.

The pleasure magnified, and her mind took flight. He covered her mouth with his in a wild and carnal kiss, tipping her over the edge of ecstasy.

CATRIONA STILL FLOATEDon clouds of bliss when she, Dani, and the maids convened in the bailey amongst the men and saddled horses. Though she talked and laughed with Dani, Cat found it difficult to take her eyes off Torr while the men made final preparations. He was the most handsome and delectable man she had ever encountered. Besides that, he was caring and honorable. Every time his glance darted her way, he looked not only interested but... ravenous. And she felt the same way.

"I think someone's in love," Dani said in a singsong tone too low for anyone else to hear.

Cat's face heated as her gaze swung to her new friend. "Is it that clear?"

Dani smiled. "Absolutely."

"I'll have to be more careful." Cat grinned, remembering the night before. "Torr proposed to me last night," she whispered.

"Oh my gosh! Congratulations." Dani gave her a quick hug.

"Shh. We're trying to keep it quiet. Aggie is the only one who knows." Cat had already told Dani about the troubles with her clan trying to marry her to the MacPeter.
