“The pants worked!” I announced to Erik, scanning the room like I could actually find him. I felt so damned pleased that I’d bought the pants on a whim, back when I’d helped Pete figure out how to be a sub. It sounded way dirtier than it had been and I’d mostly bought the pants because I’d wanted them.Sue me! They looked hot, okay?!

We all laughed, and I could tell Linda sensed she needed to get her butt out of here. From what I’d heard from Jackson she tended to show up at the worst moments. She stood with a sheepish look on her face. “I also came to grab Dylan.”

Say what now? “Me?” Just what horrors were she planning?

Linda nodded. “You two need to relax for the next few days. Soweneed to go shopping. I was told by Rino that you needed to recharge and relax. Dylan,we’vegot to get moving.”

“Shopping?” Mike and I asked at the same time.

She’d better not be talking about lube and condoms. There was only so much I could take before blushing.

“Yes, and we have to be quick because you can’t be away from one another for long. Mike will need to stay here so he doesn’t get drained. But you.” She pointed her manicured finger at me. “Get a shirt on and let’s go.”

Not even ten minutes later, I was wearing a hoodie and a pout as Linda drove me away from my sweetheart.

“Stop pouting!” she exclaimed with a sigh. “I’m doing this to help you two.”

“If you truly wanted to help, couldn’t you just have bought the things we absolutelyneedfor bonding without me having to leave Mike?”

“So, I might’ve lied a little…”

I gasped. “Is this a kidnapping? Am I not good enough for your son, and now you’re taking matters into your own hands? Am I beingdiscarded?!”

She just shook her head. “Calm down with your dramatics.” She was smiling now. “I saw Vera yesterday and needed to ask you a few questions.”

“Oh. We saw her this morning. Could’ve done without it to be honest. I’m surprised you didn’t see her. She left only seconds before you arrived.”

“I thankfully didn’t,” she sighed. “Vera seemed very determined to get Mike back and it took ages before I managed to get her to leave. She was very intent on her wish to speak with Mike.”

“She did, and then she left with the knowledge that Mike is all mine and I’m not sharing him.” I had my arms crossed, still in a pouty mood. I could be at home right now, wiggling out of these pants with Mike’s help. Things would’ve gotten so hot and amazing!

“Good, then I need to tell you about being an anchor.”

We were parked in front of the biggest grocery store in town and I already feared this would take hours. I did not enjoy shopping.

“Mike will need almost constant touch while you bond,” Linda started.

“Done.”

“He’ll need to sleep next to you every night.”

I grinned, “Done.”

“He needs to hold your hand whenever you go out, mostly just until he gets control over his energy.”

“Done.”

“Perfect, now let’s shop for all the good stuff so you don’t need to leave the apartment,” she declared, already jumping out of her car.

“This could’ve been a single text, you know?” I knew I was pouting again, but I couldn’t help it.

Linda rolled her eyes at me. “Sue a mother for wanting to make sure her son truly is in good hands. I was ecstatic, you know? When Rino called me and explained what had happened, I felt so damn relieved that it was you.”

“Don’t think buttering me up will help your case here,Mom,” I sniped, but Linda knew I was just teasing.

“Aww, you called meMom,” she swooned.

This time I was the one rolling my eyes.
