Guests mingled and moved around the ballroom until the master of ceremonies invited the newlyweds into the center of the ballroom for their first dance. Following the crowd, Evangeline watched.

While not a flowers and hearts kinda gal, she was moved by how deeply in love they were. Colton and Brigit never took their eyes off each other and they couldn’t stop smiling. He dropped several doting kisses on her lips, but as the song ended, she kissed the hell out of him. He dropped his hand from her waist to her backside and gave it a tender squeeze. They shared one more loving kiss before the crowd erupted in applause.Wow.I want what they have.

She was about to let Tucker know she was taking off, when Carly and Maverick zoomed into view.

“I’ve been looking for you all night,” Carly said. “Dakota’s daughter has been talking non-stop about her new friend E-Leen.”

Evangeline smiled. “She’s darling.”

“You’re not leaving, are you?” Carly asked.

“Dancing’s not my thing,” Evangeline replied.

“Ash—Maverick—is taking several of us on a midnight cruise down the Potomac,” Carly said. “Come with us. I’m so happy you’re back and would love to catch up.”

Evangeline sawhimout of the corner of her eye…and then she felt him brush up against her. The energy Sin carried with him made him a powerful force. Again, she went hot, and silently chastised herself for her immediate and uncontrollable reaction.

“Do you know my brother-in-law, Sinclair Develin?” Carly asked.

The second their eyes met, electricity shot through her. She wanted to touch him, to run her fingers down his cut triceps. She wanted to feel his lips on hers, his naked body over her. Swallowing down the mounting desire, she struggled to keep things chill. “We’ve met,” she deadpanned, but Sin’s amused expression was a sure sign he wasn’t buying her act.

“Bro, are you boating with us?” Maverick asked his brother.

Sin’s attention stayed locked on Evangeline’s. “I can do that.”

“Why don’t you bring Evangeline?” Carly asked her brother-in law.

“I can do that, too.” As Sin replied, his fingers grazed her pinky, then he caressed her skin. Every nerve in her body tingled with desire. Sin had this magical way of igniting her need with the slightest touch. His devilish smile sent tingles skittering through her. “You’ve gotta dance,” he said. “It’s a wedding.”

A group of women stalking him sauntered into view, each admiring him with puppy dog eyes. “If you need a dance partner, there’s a half dozen women ogling your backside,” Evangeline replied. “I’m confident they’dallbe happy to dance with you.”

“I’m not asking them. I’m asking you. Will you dance with me,Evangeline?”

He’d learned her real name. What else has he found out about me?

“Dance with me, wife.” Maverick slung his arm around Carly and they took off for the dance floor.

“See how easy that was?” He tugged her close and her breath hitched. “Come.”

A tiny moan escaped her lips. He was never one to play fair. He knew her body in the most intimate of ways and he had used all those ways to bring her the pleasure she craved. Together, they walked onto the dance floor and he wrapped her in his long, strong arms.

As they swayed to the sensual beat, she wanted to pull him flush against her, tighten her hold, and breathe in his delicious scent. Though he towered over most at six four, in stilettos she topped six feet herself, which made staring into his eyes extremely easy. She had missed his touch more than she would ever admit. Steeling her spine, she fought against the dizzying desire.

“You fucked me over,” she murmured, “and I am so pissed at you.”

“You saw something you shouldn’t have seen.”

“You did something you shouldn’t have done. Not to mention how you’ve done a number on me, professionally.”

“Had I known we were tracking the same guy, I would have invited you to join us.”

“I work alone.”

His lips twitched at the corners and she glanced at his mouth. “That doesn’t sound very fun. You enjoyed partnering with me in the past.”

“You love toying with me, but I’m not joking.”

Dakota danced over with Sammy balanced on his shoes. The little one grinned up at them.
