“Exhibitionism.”

His breath hitched. “Very nice. How do you like Greta’s?”

“It’s a good time.” She plucked the empty glass from his hand. “Thanks for a fun show.”

“Wait, is that a no?” Internado glanced at her chest again.

“Afraid so,” Carly replied.

As they walked up the stairs, Carly reached back and handed Maverick Internado’s tumbler. At the top of the stairs, he was about to duck into the restroom when Greta intercepted him.

“I can take those for you.” Maverick watched as Internado’s DNA got whisked away and placed on a tray filled with dirty tumblers.

Dammit to hell.

His eyes met Carly’s. They’d come so close.

“Why don’t you stay and play?” Greta asked.

“We aren’t feeling it tonight,” Carly replied. “Thanks for inviting us. We’ll be in touch.”

Silence filled the car as he drove home. For most of the ride, Maverick had no words. No words at all. Then, he found them.

At a light, he removed his mask and placed his hand around her thigh. “Carly, I love you…so much, you know that, right?”

She smiled. “I do.”

“I’ve gotta be honest…the kink scene isn’t my thing.”

After taking off her mask, she threaded her fingers through his. “I know that.”

“I don’t want you giving up what you need. I want you happy and sexually fulfilled.”

She leaned close, dropped a lingering kiss on his cheek. “I choose you, Ashton Hott. When the need for kink arises, I’ll let you know.”

“Fair enough.” The light changed and he hit the gas.

“We got quite an eyeful tonight,” she said. “I’m still having trouble processing his reckless behavior.”

“He’s a monster.”

“Erotic choking is dangerous. Some kink communities don’t allow it. So much can go wrong.”

“You mean, like death?”

Their gazes locked. “Yeah, like death.”

As soon as they returned home, Maverick yanked off the wig and removed his shoes and socks. Carly slipped out of her stilettos while he checked the playback from the video watch. They’d captured him screwing and choking a play partner. Though he should have been relieved they finally had what they needed, he wasn’t. Internado was more reckless than he’d expected.

But the second he dropped a lingering kiss on her bare shoulder and breathed her familiar, peachy scent, his anger evaporated. “Let’s take a midnight cruise down the river.”

Her sultry smile was the best medicine for his suffering soul. “Let me get out of this wig first.”

“Do not change,” he called as she retreated down the stairs.

She pivoted, a fiery look blazing in her eyes. “Yes, sir.”

After readying the vessel, he found her waiting in the main cabin and draped a light blanket around her bare shoulders.
