Epilogue

May, twenty months later

Savannah shook the woman’shand. “That’s one of my favorite photographs.”

“Mine, too,” said the woman, “which is why I bought it.”

Savannah laughed. “I hope you’ll send me a picture when you hang it. I always love seeing where my work ends up.”

“I love the Sandia Mountains.”

“Me, too. I started falling in love with my husband while there on a location shoot. It’s always a treat to photograph New Mexico’s mountain ranges.”

Megan Walker finished wrapping the framed photograph in brown paper. “Would you like me to put this in your car?”

“I’ve got this.” The woman said her goodbyes and carried the package outside.

Megan closed the door to the art gallery and grinned. “My God, woman, you sold out.”

“Wesold out. This is a ‘we’ thing.”

“What did I do?” Megan asked.

“Whatdidn’tyou do? You alerted the press, you ran a fantastic PR campaign, you arranged catering. And don’t get me started about how amazing you are with our clients, especially the returning ones.”

“You are so good for my ego, I can’t stand it.” Megan collected her handbag from behind the counter. “I hate to leave you—”

“Go. I’ll clean up. What are you guys doing tonight?”

“Seriously, you have to ask me that?”

“Oh, right. Movie night at King Cove.”

“Kent’s grilling before we leave if you and Zander want to join us.”

“Thanks. I’ll text you after I talk with him.”

“Just show up. And please know that if you don’t come, Colin is going to be disappointed. I think he likes you two more than he likes Kent and me.”

The women laughed.

Megan opened the gallery door and Zander breezed in. “Perfect timing. Where are you going?” he asked Megan.

“Home. Kent texted that my parents are worn out from spending the afternoon with three ‘rambunctious’ children. Their words, not mine. Gotta run.” Megan hurried down the sidewalk.

Zander closed the door and kissed his wife. “Hey, baby.”

“Hello, my love. How was golf?”

“We had a great time. Kent and I closed the deal on the ninth hole. Our shots tanked after that, but we were too happy to care. The client insisted we lost on purpose.”

She laughed. “Congratulations! Which one? The Lake Norman project or the one in the Catskills?”

“The lake.” He glanced around the gallery. “Where are all the photographs?”

Savannah smiled. “We sold out.”

Zander picked her up and spun her around. “Congratulations. That’s awesome.”
