Brit paused the movie, then all three sisters started laughing.

“Jumpy much?” Hawk asked.

“This movie is insane,” Honor said. “My skin is crawling.”

“It’s good,” Addison said before pushing off the sofa to kiss her husband hello.

Rebel leaned over the back of the sofa and kissed Brit. Now that she was feeling better, he was done holding back, done sneaking around.

“I should go,” Honor said.

Brit patted the cushion. “Don’t you want to see how it ends?”

“I already know,” she replied. “The good guys win, the bad guys lose.”

“We’ll be quiet,” Hawk said sitting on the floor near Addison.

After Rebel eased onto a chair, they resumed their movie. When it ended, Rebel said, “Computer, living room lights on low.”

The lights brightened a little and Honor said, “Joaquin, did you go to college?”

“Yup.”

“I’m going to college in the fall, and I’m going to major in whatever you studied because your home is to die for… and you talk to your computer,” Honor said.

“The security system is from Hawk’s company,” Addison said.

“Wow, everyone’s so successful.” Honor’s phone buzzed. “Jordan’s here. I’m going to change.”

Brit pushed off the sofa. “Keep the jammies. They look adorable on you.”

Honor shrugged into her coat, grabbed her clothes. “Thank you for tonight.” She hugged Brit and Addison. “I loved getting to know you guys. Having sisters is the best.”

“We can walk you down,” Brit said.

Honor pushed the elevator button. “It’s okay. Jordan’s right outside.” The elevator door slid open and she stepped inside.

After the doors closed, Brit fixed her gaze on Rebel. “She’s Clarice Sanders from Acorn Boarding School.”

Seconds passed while his brain chewed on those words. “That’s big.”

“What’s going on?” Addison asked.

“Come look at our white board,” Brit said as she took off toward the office.

When everyone caught up with her, she stood, frozen in place, staring at the door.

“Why don’t you go inside, babe?” Rebel asked.

“The door’s ajar,” she said.

“So?” Hawk asked.

“We always shut the door,” Brit said.

“Maybe we didn’t pull it—” Rebel said.

“No,” Brit insisted. “I know the door was closed. Totally closed. Honor asked for a tour, but I didn’t show her this room.”
