“You’re a liar,” Honor bit out. “You’re no better than those horrible girls who picked on me, and punished me, and tortured me.”
“That’s not fair,” Brit said. “Ineverabused you, Honor.”
Honor extracted a lipstick case from her pocket. “I thought I was done with revenge murders, but you’re going to get the letters L and I on your cold, dead forehead.” She flicked her gaze over to Addison. “And you’ll get the A and the R. What does that spell?”
I got it wrong. Liliana’s not the killer. She is.
Silence, while the reality of their situation sunk in.
Honor stomped her foot on the ground. “What does it spell!” she screamed.
“Liar,” Brit replied. “It spells liar.”
“Exactly.” A vacant smile filled Honor’s face. “I saw the white board in your office.”
I knew it. She did go in there during sisters’ night.
In an attempt to keep Honor talking and gain her trust, Brit said, “I arrested Liliana. Doesn’t that bring us closer together? She’s going to spend the rest of her life in prison. She can’t hurt you anymore.”
“You were hunting me the entire time, pretending to be my friend. I was so excited I had sisters. Maybe I wouldfinallyhave some friends.”
“Why kill all those people?” Brit asked. “You found love, you could have left Liliana and started over.”
“Those girls had to pay for what they did,” Honor said. “They had to pay for the years of pain and abuse. They killed my only friend and they got away with it.”
“When Honor told me about the abuse she’d endured for years and years, I devised a plan,” Jordan said.
Honor caressed Jordan’s cheek. “I have an amazing accomplice.”
“Someone had to teach her how to fire a gun, how to wipe down a crime scene.” Jordan’s prideful smile filled Brit with rage.
“And plant evidence,” Honor added.
They played us.
“Not only did I get even with those girls, I got back at Liliana too.” Honor palmed Jordan’s crotch. “I stole her man.”
This is some kind of fucked up.
“Walk,” Honor said.
“Where are we going?” Addison asked.
“To your graves,” Honor replied.
A lump of dread formed in Brit’s throat and her chest grew tight.
Jordan pointed the rifle at Brit’s face. “Do it.”
Addison ambled toward the exit, but Brit didn’t move.
“You got revenge,” Brit said. “You got the man. Why are we here?”
“Because you betrayed me!” Honor screamed before she spun Brit around, then pushed her. “Walk, bitch.”
“Let Addison go,” Brit said. “She has no idea what’s going on. She wasn’t involved in your case. She an innocent?—”
“She’s collateral damage,” Jordan said. “Just like Kayleen’s fiancé.”
